Joel

Joel 2:12-17 talks about the Lord being merciful and compassionate. But there is a catch to God's mercy and compassion. There is no doubt that God is merciful, compassionate, gracious and slow to anger, but in Joel 2:12-17 we'll see what God demands of His people in order for them to be recipients of his mercy and compassion.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today is February 26, 2020. Today is Ash Wednesday. Today, Joel 2:1-2, 12-17 will most likely be read in churches holding services today. Remember that we are but dust, and to dust we will return. 3 years ago this past Sunday (Feb. 23), my mother was returned to the earth from whence she came.
