We couldn't leave Miami without trying a Cuban restaurant in Little Havana, we chose La Trova after it was recommended to us by Jose (if you know, you know).

@@TheJoelWood in my opinion I would be much more interested in seeing/hearing about independent restaurants focusing on regional cuisine for the places you visit. The people and food are legendary to this day, and I've always said it....Glad you had this experience in Little Havana, you will remember for the rest of your life. Thanks for sharing, it brought back special memories.

I'm born and raised in Miami and grew up on Cuban food, but the only cuban food I recognized here were the empanadas and croquettes (the ham ones not the lobster one). There were no black beans and rice or moros. rope vieja, vaca frita, bistec de palomilla, platanos, tostones, mojo chicken. I would have even settled for a Cuban sandwich with yuca fries. Anyway, I'm glad you all had some cuban food! Even if it doesn't seem like the authentic cuban food experience! Try some Jamaican or Haitian food next.

I was about to say the same thing. I was born in Cuba and raised in NYC and then Miami.Their choices really are not "Cuban." They appeared to be more Spaniard, I'd say. You all are making me want to go to Miami. I know it's beautiful there but not much else as far as things to do and see. I also love culture and there's lots of it there. We have one way tickets to the south this summer and not sure where we'll end up after that. I really want to try Cuban food too. Florida is sounding so much better with every vlog you put out.

@@xoxxobob61 when I said " I know it's beautiful but not that there was so much to see and do" I meant " I knew it was beautiful but didn't know there was so much to see and do" I was trying not to be redundant with my words. There's a lot of big cities I don't know too much about but I'm trying to learn. So no, I didn't know about the population or anything else in Joel and Lias video before I watched it. I know more about places and cities I live close to but not places that are on the other side if the country. Someday I'll make it to Florida when I can afford it and will learn about more than just Miami.

When you go to a new restaurant you should say it’s my 1st time here, ask the waitress or waiter to choose your appetizer & meal… it’s fun! It’s a surprise and hopefully they choose their best stuff.

You guys are going to have to try a Cuban Sandwich from a Cuban deli/bodega and some Cafe Cubano from a Cuban Cafeteria (not like Morrisons or Picadilly but a place or window where they serve only espresso coffee with so much sugar it's actually sweet!) Cafe con Leche is excellent too

Cubans in south Florida in Miami have the best Cuban food with a lot of flavor and the Brits also have great food in London.

Yes we have thousands of fine dining restaurants in the United States, and great seafood restaurants, and 75% of the time they eat junk food.

That looks like so much fun! I'm moving to Florida late this year about 4 1/2 hours drive north of Miami and I'm definitely going to take a trip down there once I'm settled!

Cuban shredded pork is really good too. If you’re ever in LA, we have a chain restaurant called Versailles. It’s weird because that’s French. I’m half Cuban btw.
