Can't wait. New POI (Dungeons), the stat meter changes and zombie healthbar as well as the vehicles are such a great addition. Love the sound effects on that Silencer but yes, headshots should do a little more damage than body shots.

I think healthbars sort of take away from the suspense of knowing if the zombie is dead or not. Especially in a horde where you cant just focus on one.

Very rarely a human could stay up with a shot to the head, two to the head strains belief. Missing and not hurting them I understand, but a head shot with a pistol should inflict serious damage, not like a BB gun.

The guns in the build he is using are broken (no dmg multiplier) and low lvl (aswell as he has no gun perks as stated) in the current game build its ez to kill with just a low lvl bow and sneak bonus headshots all but the fats and frozens just make sure to follow up with stun dmg and good aim. stealth is the most powerful weapon followed by stun dmg following up early game. Fun fact currently a green hunting rifle can 2 shot a cop without him going into sprint.

I rather like the health bar. But fear not im sure other would and do agree with you and there will likely be an option or a mod to turn it off. So you dont have to worry too much about it, i for one am not all that concerned with realism in a game where you can carry 5000 tons of stone in your back pocket and mold metal ingots into tools with your bare hands.

I am pretty sure they will implement a way to turn the health bar off. When I first saw it I thought to myself that someone will complain about it. Personally, I like it. But I can see why some would not want it to maintain the element of immersion and surprise. I would prefer the option to turn it on or off, but not a complete removal. I like choice.

In all seriousness this game needs to be more aggressive especially coming from the zombies.the healthbar to me is going to cause the game to freeze up during horde night simply because there's gonna be too many zombies in the crosshairs at one time. Instead of doing away with the plaines biome make it better despite the fact I hardly ever us it But it does give the game mystery. Instead of getting rid of the plains biome add like a dust storm in the biome occassionally where the sun dims for a hot sec. I mean even show us a new items list. Another person made a good point and said something about breedibg animals which cant take too much longer than growing trees.

And "body shots should never kill"? Puncturing the heart, collapsing the lungs, nicking arteries (even in arms and legs) or simply shock or bleeding out from a number of otherwise non-fatal shots are all quite deadly for normal humans. At the extreme end put an explosive next to the torso and have it explode (rocket launchers are but one possibility), and then tell me how that is not fatal ...

Well it seems they sped up non-sprint movement, as it looks to be nearly as fast as sprinting in A16 would be when walking normally in A17.

I love these new features. I'm less excited about the NPC LIFEBAR though. It really takes something away from the "unknown horror" aspect that is so special about this game. yeah but if you have a quest, having a big red bouncy ! is like the game saying "over here little baby, mommie will show you where it is" its hand holding.... and just immersion breaking. the way fallout 4 did it is much better, less intrusive. I'd be ok with it if you can toggle the ! off.

I totally agree. Yes it does come up when you are low on food and drink but some times its easier for forward planning to just have the stats on screen all the time. Same with temp.

Those zombies take waaaay to much to kill with that pistol. Where are you going to get that much ammo from and why would you sit there and pump 20-30 hits into each zombie? 2-3 headshots should do it. The shotgun too, just looks pointless using them imo. One shot to the head and it should be gone, skills or not.

Actually it's quite decent quality, since quality range is 1-6 in A17, not 1-600. What got me worried is that stunned damage bonus x3 but zombie still took only 10 damage.

Pistol is the worst gun, it's quality is medium, the silencer might be effecting it. You can also play on an easier difficulty, the easiest difficulty is pretty much 1-2 head shots for anything.

Hello. A few questions and suggestions about the game mechanic (game mechanics) 1.How is the damage calculated for the player? Does it matter where the zombie strikes? The new POI's really look amazing, can't wait to see those in action. Outside and inside it's such a game changer to have the updated POI's. The gun play and game mechanics seems to have been not working well in this showcase, but the POI's are looking wonderful :D One thing I noticed though, is that the zombies did seem to NO longer destroy things inside as they go looking for the player. That's a huge problem in A16, sleepers spawn inside, and destroy everything making it Swiss cheese, chests/containers busted, so half the loot is gone by the time you get there. Fingers crossed that this really is fixed in the new version :D

Yeah, the headshot multiplier of x6 on pistol in A16 is not there, nor is the triple dmg for hitting a stunned zombie, it'll be fixed most likely, because if it turned into this where I might as well body shot everything, it'd lose alot of the fun, as I love doing near clip range headshots with the bow/xbow.

I am concerned with this damaged stamina.....if you are at 100% food how can you restore it? As it is now if you are full you can't eat. I don't get the reason for this.

I think it's like before and you have to drink water for gain stamina back fast. Eating never gave you stamina. But it could be a problem if you are not thirsty. Maybe than you can drink without being thirsty.

FFS person, if you get HUNGRY you lose some max stamina. therefore eating will let you get back up to max. kinda like in real life your body needs food to have energy.

With a couple thousand hours of playtime, it's safe to say that I love this game. The fact that it's not fully 'released' doesn't bother me all that much. Yes, there are some things I don't like. The fact that there's no ability to swim down faster than sinking with the overabundance of riverbed chests and airdrops can be annoying until you get enough points to hold your breath long enough to go for them a few months later. The fact that the fog of war on the player's map vanishes in a first-in-first-out method seems like a punishment for exploration. I feel that if a player wants to explore, they should be able to still see where they've been. There must be a workaround. That said, I love the game immensely anyway. And most of my affection for the game is the immersion. Lights off, headphones on, not enough sleep, and hopped up on caffeine... then BOO! HERE'S A PACK OF DOGS! It's great! And this is what I'm most concerned about, the immersion. The addition of action bars seriously would take this game down to a different feel. I would humbly request, as would many of us, that the enemy health bar be able to be disabled. That and the ability to swim down, and keep your whole map revealed... those would be swell, too!

Really hoping the rework on the core structures of the game will help the FPS on the next release also that realistic ragdoll when he falls down looks like he fell onto ice with grease on his ass lol If the AI isnt the next thing that's worked on after the world graphics update and the character /skill system update in the a17 release i think the games going to die. Currently the game has enough features for me to be entertained for 100's of hours. But as soon as you rly start noticing you dont need a huge fancy base and the AI is shit, kinda ruins the immersion of everything else and makes the game feel pointless.

Yeah, and you can stop them from attacking you with random various objects like chairs and chassis. They dont apth correctly, they glitch into walls often. The dogs just spin in circles. The zombies dont know what to do in a lot of elevated situations. The sensory is out of whack for detecting and spawning. But they said its getting a massive overhaul. Just doesnt say it will be in A17. The games still amazing either way, and honestly this is one of the best alpha dev teams i've ever seen. I just hope they dont lose focus on whats important from seeing the game too much. If that's understandable

And with the current AI, that 30 hours of dungeon gameplay, is going to be a repetitive mess of looking for items while dealing with buggy zombies getting stuck trying to get to you in the new path specific houses that seem very crowded. Not that they look bad, but they look bad for the AI lol

^^ i thought the same thing when i saw him fell. i agree with FPS drops, it's the first thing to do because this is what makes me stop playing even if i love this game. even powerfull gamer computer lags when they close to a city and i saw some streamer so annoyed with this they just stop to play, and because of the hit animation latency on servers too bug chairs is really too effective. and there is more effective than chairs to avoid bloodmoon. dig a hole in dirt ant dig a line in the wall 1block under the top to stop spiders. when they are all in, go away and you can walk all night everywhere with no zombies. when i understood this i thought, why should i have to mine for hours when i have a such easy way to go throw bloodmoon and don't have to deal with spinning around zombies. like you said the game felt pointless after a while but it shows there is a problem with the zombi wave system too because there is no sleepers anywhere

Wow- great update! I loved watching the jeep take down the tree! Those different buildings are all amazing too. The amount of work going into all those individual buildings is impressive. While I admit the ragdoll physics needs some love, and the pathing is still in progress- this looks amazing. I am glad to see the progress being made.

Ever thinking of adding fish? 0r the ability to farm animals? I would also like to see more traits for archery and sneak or skilltrees for all of the weapon types. IMO, If possible, create a separate skill - tied to the show/hide enemy health bar. Thus, users/players who don't want to see the enemy health bar, just don't have to 'waste' skill points for it. To make it more difficult, make the skill only learnable by skill book or after completing a certain quest.

FFS person, if you get HUNGRY you lose some max stamina. therefore eating will let you get back up to max. kinda like in real life your body needs food to have energy. and ragdoll makes it look more realistic. people don't fall down exactly the same way every time.

fix head shots.i dont care who or what you are a shotgun blast to the face at close range your head is gone.it shouldnt take more than one shot to the head from a shotgun come on now.

So are you basing this on real world zombie killing? Because I served 3 tours in great voodoo wars of the 1990s and I can tell you zombies we battled you had to shoot them 5-6 times in head to kill them.

This video nicely highlights a long standing problem with this game. Gunshot effectiveness should not be tied to skill; skill with guns comes down to accurate aim. So if you insist on having artificial shooting skills, then they should only affect your ability to aim. Low skill means you have a stronger random jitter to your aiming. Then the higher your skill level gets, the steadier your hands become. Gun damage variability should only come down to the type of ammo being used.

With 10's of thousands of scripts, graphics, animations, pathings, interactions with many different possible results, so on and so forth. I do not think many people realize the man-hours involved for such a massive effort. I've only been playing for a few months but I'm enjoying the creativity combined with the suspense of attacks at unknown intervals. Remember that this is an alpha effort no matter how long it has been played as such. I can only begin to imagine how much work even debugging an nearly finished release is. Keep it up and looking forward to the new aspects.

Love the fact you're driving over the smaller items on the roads and forest. Getting stuck every time you hit something is a drag. Nice silencer, great new health bars and very excited about all the new dungeons. I would agree, the artists have done a great job on the update. I can't wait for it to hit.

Thanks for the updates on your progress, I like seeing developers that talk about and show off what they're working on Also, I've been reading a series, the first book called Rot and Ruin, and I thought you or other developers should check it out, it takes place during a zombie apocalypse, and there's a lot of interesting ideas and concepts. Thanks Joel! I play a few survival games for the last few years and 7d2d is in my top three. When I first got it in 2014 I knew this was going to be the ultimate survival game. I'm sure once feature complete will be at the top. So excited for a17. I hope there are plans for more enemy types. Also procedural colour variations (clothing and skin type) for the zombies would go a long way for variety.

I do not know whether this will be plagiarism or not, but in left 4 dead, there is a cool counter, there is a peeple on the bomb, from which all the zombies begin to rush into the bomb, and it is undermined afterwards. So I wanted to offer you the craft of this pikalki, the sound of the source, which you can then attach to homemade bombs, dynamite sabers, etc. Increase the effectiveness of explosives

Should be a stone knife instead of bone, you can make stone arrowheads and the same skill is needed to make a knife i.e flintknapping. Glass could be used in the same way.

I'm writing a translator through Google. Since the 16th update, the behavior of zombies and animals has become terrible, as well as their spawn. Previously, biomes had a lot of zombies and animals, now 2-3 zombies per square kilometer, rarely a zombie raid. If a zombie shoots from a hill on which he can not climb, instead of breaking it, he just stops noticing you, and just walks about his business. It has already happened several times that I shoot a zombie from an onion, I get it, he does not pay attention, and then goes on. Even the shots from the pistols do not react. Animals are even worse if they shoot from a distance, dogs or wolves just start running around in circles, that's all. They start to catch up only if they come close. If you are on a hill, they also move randomly along a circle
