Hey Joel. Love watching/listening to you on your podcast or calling games. Your football IQ is next to none. I watch an insane amount of college football but could always learn more in the weeds stuff. I would absolutely tune in to a football 101 show with you. Also do you have merchandise for purchase? Would love a hat, t, or hoodie to show my fanhood. Thx for all you do for the sport.

At the same time im learning a lot at my job right now, and see myself going to the sports industry with more experience. The question is what, when and how is the right move. As a Dawgs fan, the pressure is absolutely on Kirby. We've let ourselves down against Bama time after time, and it's time for Kirby and Georgia to actually step on the gas and keep it down. Additionally, considering the lethal schedule we gotta deal with beyond Bama, this is a must win.
@RubberDuckyBitch3 сағат бұрын
I some what agree, but as a Bama fan even with Nick Saban we for years had problems with Auburn even when they didn’t have a great team when we played at their house. Didn’t really matter what coach they had.

Hey Joel! Love the show and it's great that you take the time to make this useful for all listeners! Having said that, I personally would prefer you spend your time with catering to the people who already invest a lot of time into the game, where you can still add value through your conversations with coaches, analyze more complex schemes, etc. - As you said, there's so much out there already and we're entering a time where we finally can move off the "they just want it more" or "he didn't see the defender" points you used to hear a lot on traditional broadcasts, because more often than not, there's some detail in terms of coverage distrubution, counters to previous play-calls or other factors that are much more relevant, and commentators can actually dive into those! If you instead did a weekly film room on a certain gameplan a coach put together, talked about a standout O-line with end-zone view angles, etc. - I'd absolutely watch it!

I think that there should be a requirement that each school plays all of their fellow conference members in the smallest span of seasons possible. There must be a way to figure out how to do that. All the pressure is on Georgia. They’ve beat every other team they’ve faced. The fan base has barked “Saban ain’t there”. They’re correct, so there is no more excuses for Georgia. Although both teams are likely to make the playoff, Georgia has the tougher road schedule. They also are clearly missing Ladd and Brock. Alabama isn’t missing Downs and Bond in the same way. DeBoer is in season one here. If Bama loses, it’s not a house of cards. If Georgia loses, it’s going to challenge their psyche for their road games at Texas and Ole Miss. Georgia also sustaining beating everyone all the time is difficult. Can’t wait to see the game Saturday. Klatt hates Alabama. Period. Always has. Alabama 24 Georgia 20

Another Female Viewer and fan of your show, I would love an X's and O's series. I grew up in a family that loved to watch football, but no one in my family played or coached football. Joel thanks for your perspective and keeping college football fun. Comments on Michigan football, as an alum & season ticket holder this early season is in many ways more fun than last year. The early suspension of Harbaugh then the Stallions spectacle and the constant criticism of the easy schedule was a downer., the second round of Harbaugh suspension right before Penn State…Of course we know how it turned out but the season until December was a drag. We didn’t even know if the NCAA would let us play in the CFP. This year We knew there was a gel period for the team to come together. Texas and USC poised early challenges winning this week vs USC allows Michigan a chance to continue to get better over the next month with no one expecting them to repeat a run for the Big Ten championship. It’s great seeing Indiana picked to beat Michigan by ESPN’s progonosticatobot!! Question do you think Indiana will be 9-0 when they play Michigan? Huge disparity for some big ten teams in conference schedule how can CFP level playing field? ND still has a chance to make it with a loss to NIU and terrible schedule! Thanks again Go Blue! Stormin’ Normin

Yes to Xs and Os. Beginner friendly is fine, but maybe end each lesson with something a bit more advanced for those of us who are more familiar with it.
@jacklarson20114 сағат бұрын
Hey Joel, I may have a solution to the schedule imbalance in large conferences. What if these conferences were divided into two sub conferences that played full round robin schedules, and the winners from each meet in the conference title game? Ties in each sub conference could then be settled with head to head results. This would prevent a Missouri team that goes undefeated in a weak schedule getting into the CTG over a Bama/UGA, one of which is guaranteed a conference loss. You may have seasons where one side is way better than the other, but it would make those head to heads that much more important. Sarcasm aside, getting rid of divisions may have solved one problem, but it introduced another…

YES XO’s SHOW!!!!!!!!!!
@Maxrotor16 сағат бұрын
I am a UGA fan and Georgia has more pressure for two reasons: Georgia has a tougher schedule and they are likely to lose one to two more games. Kirby needs to beat the new coach at Bama. That said, if UGA loses in a close game, they should only drop a few slots. Come playoff time, schedule toughness should be considered and teams like Ohio State should not be rewarded for a cupcake schedule.

Alabama isn't feeling pressure at all. This is nothing new to them. They've had this question asked about Clemson, LSU, etc. surpassing them and yet here we are. Kirby Smart is coaching for his job. I know that sounds crazy right now, but if he doesn't beat Bama now, especially in DeBoer's first year, that looks BAD. Will Georgia fans and boosters finally admit that Alabama is just better? DeBoer is already beating Kirby in recruiting and that is wild.

Fantastic show today. I'm bothered by the 12 team playoff for a few reasons: First, these are college kids and they're being asked to play all these extra games. Second, people who whined about their fifth or sixth place team not making it into the four team playoff are just gonna complain when their team ends up 13th or 14th. Third, when will it end? At a 36 team playoff? It's just too much. As a sidenote, I'm distressed at the emphasis on gambling and how sports and sports shows and even stadiums are being sponsored by gambling sites. It's pretty sad actually.

so friekin weird that Bama is given this asterisk of highest average rating in recruiting. i've seen Ohio State have that honor many times and it has never been mentioned, same with literally any other team. but when it's Bama it somehow supersedes the rankings. that's the bias that people talk about and are continually told doesn't exist.
