Lost to the back to back champs Georgia. Lost to national champion Michigan and their historic defense. If you want to call them "soft" after losing in AA in 2021, I'll give you that as the defense couldn't get off the field. 2022 in the shoe was not a game lost on physicality but schematics. They played too much cover 0 that caught up to them in the end when Edward's broke two runs open late in the 4th. Up until that point ohio state held Michigan's run game to under 100 yards in the 4th quarter. Yes, Day got emotional because there's a false narrative made up by michigan that the teams not physical when they ran the ball just as much as they threw it in 2023. They actually played a more physical smash mouth style football carried by stout defense and running the ball. When they played UM in 2023 the game was neck and neck and really decided by 2 plays. One being a interception setting UM up inside the 10 yard line. The other was the controversial TD that was clearly an INT in the end zone SD wilson never had control before losing the ball. 2023 UM did not push ohio state around at all. I was watching that game with 20 of my UM friends and on the last drive they were all convinced ohio state was going to drive and win that game. Like I said, keep trying to make stuff up but reality is reality.
