No... But they still have the talent to be a playoff team. But unless they allow Orji to be a complete QB. They need Jack Tuttle to take over when he is healthy. Hoping for the best, but no matter what, God's blessings each day bring greater joy than any Michigan win.

Well said. I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if it's minor things like sherone allowing music in the gym where as Harbaugh was all "humble hearts" and "praying" or if it's something much more. More penalties, more unsportsmanlike conduct, roughing the passer, etc etc. The sunglasses boasting used to be cool under Harbaugh. Now it's seeming conceited.

It all starts up front. When Warren has time, he's fine, when he gets pressure he's terrible. Losing 6 OL to the NFL, the drop off up front has been the biggest challenge for Michigan's offense. On defense, the first string DL is great but there is no depth there like there was last year. Also they are starting a true freshman opposite Will Johnson who is not ready and teams pick on him all game. Wink is not a college DC and the new OC is not running an offense that caters to their personnel. Sherrone is a great OC but he's not calling plays anymore.

Joel, you F’n NAILED IT. Great analysis/insight. Especially on defense - I don’t like this brand, DB’s getting beat (not looking for the ball) and seeing “pockets” of field coverage (opposite of the cohesive/team style you reference). If Wink doesn’t change it’s going to be a pre-harbaugh defense, scoring and w-l record. Hopefully Sherrone gets this and makes defensive changes. Keep up the great work! Joe.

Roll him out every snap with option to run or pitch back to following tail back - . OR hit a TE out in the flat . This is their saving grace. They can beat OSU if they perfect the Rick Leach style option from UNDER CENTER not in the shotgun . Pls take about this style and the old style option as their saving grace moving fwd. All else won't work. This uses #10 to the max. Under center , Joel . Leach style. Please discuss this. Thx. .

This is a coaching staff/coaching scheme/coaching culture problem. Sure, Mich lost a lot of players to the NFL, Harbaugh took ¼ of the staff to LA but theres still ½ of Harbaughs staff there & still a lot of talent there on the team. They said to make Sheronne HC to keep the culture in place but thats not proving true now is it? Sheronne is a great guy who deserved the job but we ALL knew he would be in over his head as the head ball coach (can we say RichRod/Hoke). This IS the Jim Harbaugh effect! I think us Mich fans knew there'd be a dropoff in dominance & wins but we hoped that the culture (the specific culture that Harbaugh built) would make this 2 loss team at worst. The players are only doing what they have been taught to do with this scheme by the coaches & this scheme by the coaches is proving to be inept since the leadership of JH left. All that talent is obviously not being utilized when JH was the General. Wink is def proving to be Don Brown 2.0. He may have may the mentor or Mike McD/Minter but what McD/Minter did is modernized the Defense with adjustments, movements, schemes whereas Wink is running the D like its 10 yrs ago on the Ravens Defense. This D is nothing like its been the last few yrs as you can see it pre snap when they line up. Kirk Campbell has proven why he was an asst in the past & not a O coord. Now that he is calling the plays its like Josh Gattis 2.0. Sheronne was hired to keep the culture in place but the culture is most def not in place in less than a years time!

College football is tough to watch. My team recently “changed” and it sure is hard to get behind a lot of the kids… because I don’t have anything invested in anyone. On top of it, we seem worse off. I don’t get how anyone can compete with teams who have u limited booster money because they’ll always get better players. My school looks a little silly trying to run these same offenses, when we are going to ALWAYS get lower caliber players. Sure, our kids usually graduate, don’t get arrested, and act like adults…. But we’ll never win consistently ever again unless we sink to new lows.

MIchigan's QB problem began when JJ declared and when JH left in late January with ¾ of the staff. By that time, the remaining QB's in the portal were not top notch. Michigan fans need to give Sherron Moore a break, and some time. It is what it is.

Like I said before the season that team up north ceiling is 10-2 and I put their bottom at 8-4 so I said 9-3 but if they don't figure it out FAST they could end up 7-5! Losses to ( Texas already happened ) USC, Oregon, TOSU and if they don't fixed things FAST a loss on the road to a far less talented team such as Illinois or Indiana 💯

Teams rarely break out of who they are three weeks in without a miracle. M doesn't have an Arch Manning on the bench. So I'm leaning towards 8-4 or 7-5.

This is a very good team. It’s the coaching staff.. These players aren’t taught any kind of discipline mentality or physically. Wink is not studying opposing teams game tapes like Jesse did. This is all poor coaching and development.

With all due respect to Warren. It was obvious how bad he was going to be by halftime. Orji is the best shot imo we havent gotten enough throws from him in game to see how good his arm is.

Michigan put all its eggs in the basket to win the 2023 title with no regard for what happens afterwards to the program. It's pretty easy to step back and look at everything that has happened (some that were in motion well before 2023) that the 2024 program is vastly different than the previous years. Stallions jokes aside. One of the most frustrating things personally for me is how Michigan continues to miss on getting top tier QB recruits or skill position recruits. Its all well and good if you want to focus on getting OL/DL recruits but at the end of the day you NEED top talent at the QB, RB and WRs. Michigan has not brought in a solid QB recruit in several years outside of JJ and it shows in more ways than one. In today's style of football if you don't have a dynamic offense you will struggle to win games. Michigan doesn't need to revert back to the Rich Rod experiment BUT they do need to change their ways of getting top tier talent at the most important positions. Every single program that is winning meaningful games has a solid QB surrounded by top tier skill players that were 4/5 star recruits. Michigan seems to always land these 3/4 star recruits that maybe 50% of the time play at or below that level but expect them to play like a 5 star............just do what you have to do to get the 5 star guys!!!! Don't recruit 3/4 star QB's then sit them on the bench for 3 years "developing" them to then throw them into their first games as a Junior just to watch them struggle. Again, outside of JJ, Michigan has totally botched the QB position for years and thats where it needs to start.............look at the success the team to the south has had once they get that top tier QB......

Michigan makes the playoffs if: 1) They run a Wing T offense 2) Wink stops Don Browning 3) The kicker gets more opportunities 4) The O line suddly learns to become masons and builds a brick wall to take their place.

85% good things from Warren? That’s an odd way to describe a QB with 2 TD passes and 6 INTs through the first 3 games. Their fans scoffed whenever anyone questioned the loss of so many players and coaches before the season claiming that “nothing has changed”. Joel said the same thing prior to the season. This team is simply not very good. The passing game is completely inept and they didn’t have a single rushing TD until Saturday. The D has two elite players surrounded by mediocrity with a DC who was apparently enamored by Don Brown’s strategy which got them annihilated against good offenses. They didn’t recruit well even while they were winning and it is showing up in the worst possible way now. Something has clearly changed and it’s the fact that they are back to being a trash team. USC by double digits seems inevitable.

Let’s scrap the passing game as a whole. I want Orji at WB and the 5 skill players to be Edwards, Mullings, Bredeson, Loveland, Klein. Heavy sets, run every play and have the occasional play action in the flat or TE’s up the seam/deep middle. I’m convinced that’s the only plan that will keep this offense on the field longer and from turning the ball over.

Martindale may be the Godfather of this defense, but he's not Minter. This team doesn't tackle well, and is giving away too many chunk plays. It may not be until mid-late season the new players figure it out. Indeed Martindale blitzes waaay more than Minter, and is almost looking like Don Brown. That ain't good.
