Honestly, Alpha is one of my favorite KZbinrs simply because I love his personality, and my style matches with his a lot. As you said, style is totally subjective and personal. So for me personally, Alpha’s videos are perfect. Along with his humor and playfulness in the videos he brings a lot of motivation to the table as well once you delve into his channel a decent bit. I 100% respect your opinions though and see where you’re coming from on a lot of your points. I recommend giving Alpha a little more of a chance! He’s a solid dude, and he’s got a lot to offer to the KZbin style scene.
@brybry1114 жыл бұрын
I haven't even watched the video yet and I want to comment this before I hear your opinion. Alpha M has some decent SAFE opinions but his fashion inputs seem like they're coming from the view of a guy who's trying to fit that really old school approach to fashion. The "you're not a man without this and this and this". Plain hoodie..plain shoes...plain sun glasses. He's very plain jane and doesn't push any boundaries. If it were for people like him fashion wouldn't be forward thinking in any way. Also the fact that 50% of the things he owns are sponsored items makes me think he less passionate about his own ideas and takes "stylists" opinion over his own? and stylists have never been known to take many risks. Iunno.. I get it.. these are timeless pieces in the sense that you can transform any outfit with plain items but they all seem extremely obvious.

@@Gallucks Haha agreed with you on the sleeves, I find tight sleeves uncomfortable. I agree with you on the watch thing too. I think watches just seem silly if you're not ever going to check the time. There's so many things you can put on your wrist. As a Canadian I dig the Canadian Tuxedo too haha. The shiny leather dad Chelsea boots/jeans combo tho :/ ?. . The Polyester material on hoodies bothers me as well BUT overall Alpha has the right idea with minimalist shades and no bright patterns. I just think the material of some of his items to be iffy.

I was never impressed by Alpha M's ways of dressing, I only watch his video to improve myself and it has helped me a lot since 2 years ago, I was a shy, nervous, anxious person with very low confidence and respect for myself, I couldn't talk to people properly or carry out a conversation, I was also unable with public speaking (I used to look down, close my eyes and shake a lot). But I have improved a lot since then, I am now a confident man who respect himself and has his own way of seeing things, I am not much shy and nervous. I can now confidently talk to people but still not much good with carrying on conversation but better than before. I am also good with public speaking now (I am only very very little nervous). Now don't make an instant judgement by just one of his videos, He is sometimes wrong too, he is also like us who is constantly learning and changing and sharing knowledge as much as possible (Don't bring 'he sponsors too much', No one does it for free). I recommend people with no knowledge on style to watch him. I also recommend the channel to those who wants to improve themselves.

Style is personal and visceral. It comes from within that only you can uniquely display and pull off. Style reflects not only of our aesthetic preference but something deeper. it reflects who you are, your individuality and your voice. The liberation that has happened in our society in the last few decades gives us the power and entitlement to like anything and be anything. Whether someone likes cardigan, or ripped jeans, or layers and layers of accessories indeed hinged on that fact that we have our individual freedom to express the essence of ourselves. The problem comes when examining the reasoning and philosophy behind such style. When we dive deep into the essence of channels like TMF or Alpha M, one cannot help but to sense the outdated idea of masculinity and the prejudice surrounding it. What makes a man you may ask? He has to be rough, dominant, strong, muscular, macho, etc all of which are ideals that are being challenged constantly. I guess what we are mostly reacting to when watching TMF or Alpha M is not necessarily just a matter of their choice of plain and basic appearance. There is something deeper. We are mostly triggered by their naivety/ ignorance to make a concept such as masculinity, that are still changing and fluid, into something set in the 10 commandment stones. Their idea of primitive masculinity permeates in their deliberate simple and basic fashion choice. I am saying all this to also say that there is technically not a problem with wearing a simple T-shirt and a jeans. The great Anna Wintour once said in an interview that she likes it to see models wearing T-shirt and jeans. They have the figure and the aura to pull it off. I'd say if you have it, then flaunt it! There is no dictation as to the best style you can have. My verdict is this: I am defending the use of simple and basic T-shirt and jeans if you can pull it off and that is your style but opposing TMF/ Alpha M's idea of masculinity and their reasoning for the style.

I get the contrast of you reacting to this kinda vid or. Tmf Vid. But this is a case of different strokes for different folks you know. I don’t see anything crazy wrong with wat he says but it’s not my personal style. But for guys who just wanna be basic and look decent it’s top notch advice really. These are like learning to walk before you start getting into other modes of transportation wheather it’s a skateboard, or a car, or a hover round. lol ( might be a bad analogy )

If you wanna be basic then be basic it’s the point of fashion. He just a perfect example of a toxic manly man, you wanna be SEXY you need to attack women you need to buy expensive watches to be a MANNN. And his energy and the fact he just sponsors everything. It makes it a lot easier to give an authentic (negative) reactive without holding back.

Great reaction! I kind of like Alpha M but when I would like to feel sexy I would probably not wear a t-shirt or a hoodie.

i noticed you often have to hover your mouse to the pause button just to.. well, pause. it would totally be quite more convenient to just tap the space bar.
