Still clean and Sober? Based on you're comment you'd have over 4 years by now right? In any case I'm a recovered Alcoholic (Recovering if you'd like) and I am one of the few who DON'T remember my exact sobriety date. 😂 I haven't drank in more than a decade. I went 3 months, drank, 5 months, drank, 8 months, drank, 18 months, drank, then I went ten years, and drank for another 2 years. My prior relapses were 3 or 4 days. After the 2 years I haven't drank since so it's been awhile. Maybe 15 years or more with the exception of a glass of wine that I used to kill the pain in my back having run out of my medicine when I missed a Drs appointment. I'd poured a second but, dumped it down the sink. That was somewhere around January of 2017. I'm only sure that my friend and neighbor was watching football. So sometime during the football season and I think it was a playoff game but that's as close as I can get to an actual date. I'm less concerned with the date and more concerned with the lifestyle. My Homegroup had a Catholic priest who'd say... often. "The man I was will drink again" I'm not the same man I was when I walked into an AA meeting back in 1998. March 12th and in my group we use poker chips to signify milestones. It's super common to have yearly medallions but in Miami a white chip is signifies surrender. So I picked up my first one in 98. I'm in a nursing home and I attend Zoom meetings. I'm 51 and I've been in 2 facilities since 2020 after my back broke and I've got emphasema (COPD) so I don't get to face to face meetings. Just curious how you were doing. I listen to Joel daily even services I've already seen as part of my spiritual fitness routine. I've been watching for years and, he's been a huge part of me dealing with my health issues and frustrations that arise in places such as these . I don't know what I'd do without him. I know I wouldn't have lived to see my 30th birthday if I hadn't gone to AA and kept going back. So God bless you and I hope your doing great! Be safe and stay well and congratulations on your recovery. Not everyone is successful in recovering so we're truly blessed to have found recovery and stuck with it I think. @@WelcomeToShiznitLand I'm so happy to hear that! So many either don't find recovery or they leave before the miracle happens! Any form of self improvement when we're searching for more and more peace in our lives not only helps you but, you're loved ones and anyone else you encounter. I used AA but I'm thinking maybe you were dually addicted or had a problem with substance abuse. Just a hunch 😂 I too had some problems with what AA likes to refer to as "Other Things" for the simple fact that AAs primary purpose is recovering from alcohol and helping others do the same right? I used the 12 steps of AA and just replaced the word alcohol with everything else I might have been into but, I've attended a handful of NA meetings. I haven't really delved deeply into meditation. I've been to quite a few 11th step prayer and meditation meetings of all kinds though. (You're auto correct caused you to write mediation 😂 but, I understood just the same 🤣) I was taught early on that prayer was talking to God and meditation was listening. I'm actually in a nursing home and (just turned 51 yesterday but, my lungs are said to be those of someone twice my age) and I don't say that for pity or sympathy. I believe God can heal me and if he chooses not to I'm still going to live in faith. I quit smoking and that did wonders for my breathing (emphasema) ...duh! 😂 So I feel alright. I only bring it up because I've had roommates that use their TVs at all hours and if not that screamed and howled all night. I told the social worker but, she couldn't move him because his sister wouldn't go for it. It made getting quiet very difficult as you can imagine. He went to the hospital and I prayed for him and he's okay as far as I know (last time I checked) and, the social worker (at my request) got me a roommate who's quiet, never uses his TV, and it's made my life infinitely better. It's quiet enough right now to hear a pin drop. So congratulations at being one of the lucky ones, one of the truly blessed and, I may see if I can find the Dr you referenced, just out of curiosity. You never know though. I was absolutely convinced that I would die drunk in my late 20s no matter how much encouragement I got when I finally went to a meeting. I knew they had nothing but good intentions toward me ("if I can do it, you can do it!" 😂 but, I also knew I loved it or _needed_ it a little more than anyone who'd gotten sober. So who knows, i do have time 😂 In any case, I'm truly happy you responded and that you're never going back! On the contrary you're making efforts to improve your life and the lives of others. I'm proud of you as one to another. I know it was probably the hardest thing you've ever done but, it's soooo worth it right? I'll see you around, difficult screen name to forget 😂. Many of you follow a “pastor” over Jesus. Your in a big mess. They will preach “good” sermons to draw you in. Once they gain your trust, then they start feeding you poison and like the fool you are, you eat without questioning what your being fed. Many of these pastors may have had good intentions in the beginning but, pride kicks in and they start preaching sermons off there “emotions” rather than the Holy Spirit. Didn’t Gods word tell us to test every spirit? That includes your pastors spirit ( 1 John 4:1 ) Wake Up!

I have been listening to Joel Osteen off and on throughout the years. My mom recently transitioned. I found him on Sirius XM last week. I have been watching him on You Tube for past 2-3 days. Joel Osteen sermons have brought me confirmation and hope. I keep Joel Osteen in my car and in my home. I miss my mother so much and will love her forever. I have my moments when I cry and yell for my mom. I also have a peace that I don't understand. I know this peace that I feel is from my Great I Am. I some how know that something good is coming out of my pain and sorrow. The love of my life is with the Lord, but I still have to give God praise. God has been present during the most difficult time in my life. He has consoled me and held me extra close. I thank him for everything, if I had a thousand tongues, I couldn't thank him enough. Thank you Lord ❤️🙏.

Thank you Lord for this word. It came at the right time. My daughter is critically ill. The Lord blessed us with our daughter after 8 years of trying. I believe he has a greater plan for us so i will put my trust in him. I have found peace after hearing this word and for that i am grateful. God is working on it…
