This song hits a sensitive spot that I have long suppressed. Especially your words at the end. And yes I know what it is like to try so hard and in my case the efforts were lost on someone incapable of love because they didn’t really know what love was. Your voice, even in a sad song, makes me feel warm and cozy. Your lyrics uncover emotions and memories that I have intentionally pushed as far back in my mind as I can. So it can be hard when you bring them to the surface but at the same time you help me see it is okay to be human and admit some fragility and pain. I don’t know if this is based on your experience, but you are insightful, thoughtful, feeling, and caring. I’ll admit these qualities bring me hope that there is a real person out there like that. Those qualities make me think you have the best characteristics of all… a beautiful mind and a good heart. This might be the most touching song you have written, in my opinion. Hug. Will
