To all writing about Jinjer being from Ukraine. The Jinjer episode is coming out tomorrow. You will see it is noted in that episode that I correct myself. These episodes are NOT re-recorded and planned. I thought they were Russian. As noted in the Jinjer episode now I know they are Ukrainian. I do not work for these bands nor am I a database of knowledge. Just a guy who likes checking out good music. In this case good Ukrainian music. Sorry for the mishap but an honest reaction is better to me than a contrived one.

I WAS I WAS BEAMING A BIG SH*T EATING GRIN SO SHE KNEW I WAS GOOFING ABOUT. THE LADY BEHIND WAS VERY INTERESTED IN MY COMMENT SO I IMMEDIATELY SAID APRIL 2ND'S FOOL'S DAY. THE CHECKER AND I IMMEDIATEL Y TALKED LOUD AND CLEAR THAT THE QUALITY STORE CHECKS ALL CARD READERS EVERY MORNING FOR SCAM SKIMMERS. THE LADY BEHIND ME ACTED INTERESTED IN MORE TEASING AND HUMOR BUT I WAS IN A HURRY.

Holy War is definitely one of the best songs to introduce someone to LOVEBITES.
@SomethingToDo3606 ай бұрын
To me it isn’t anymore, but that it used to be when there wasn’t as many other options available. Now I think no matter how much has changed since then, people are just used to recommending the same songs over and over. Holy War is still good, but hasn’t been a preferred option for introducing others to the band. That’s my opinion. Another thing I’ve noticed too, is that very few people these days mention it as one of their favorite songs. I think it’s just what people are used to recommending to others.

I find it sad that someone like Dilana, who is part of the Metal scene and knows it and the bands in it, had never heard of Lovebites (or Jinjer). She clearly admired their sound and musicianship and I'm sure she'll be checking them out but if someone who is involved in the Metal scene and circuit hasn't heard of them then I presume there are many other Metal artists who are also unaware of the brilliance out there. AAfter 8 years of listening to and watching almost exclusively Japanese bands (and The Warning!), I am amazed at how little the likes of Lovebites, Band-Maid and Nemophila are known amongst Metal artists. Thanks, Joel, for spreading the word so much.

You have to take into account the sheer volume of bands around that we get to see because of KZbin that we'd never hear of otherwise. I get recommends even for bands that existed twenty, thirty years ago that I'd never heard of before but are now on my playlists. I didn't discover Lovebites until after Awakening from abyss had been released and only heard about Band Maid through the Babymetal sub-reddit. Joel is doing word of mouth in the best way he can and long may it continue.

Despite the increase in fans abroad, Lovebites, Band-maid, Jinjer, The Warning and many others are still very small, compared to bands that have been around for more than 20 years and that caught on to MTV and rock played on the radio. Nowadays it's much harder for rock bands to become mainstream. But I think Lovebites will gain a lot in size after the festivals this year.

LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans. They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM, heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal,hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, R&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing.
