Man.. meps was such a long time ago... I remember my first meps trip, my meps station was about 5 hours away from me so it was a long drive, a free hotel stay, followed by a 12 hour day. Best of luck!

I actually didn't bring anything with me except what I was wearing... Maybe some documents as well but that was it. I remember doing 2 things distinctly at MEPS; 1."Squat down and walk like a duck" 2."Bend over" - lol

I wouldn't pack anything but some civilian clothes for tech school. The airforce gives you everything you need. Plus they allow trips to the mini bx to get supplies periodically. You will be leaving with a big duffle bag of uniforms and other items given to you during bmt.

I remember those days but it seems BMT has gotten better than when I joined AF in 1972. There seems to be more instruction in preparing new military recruits. Stayed for over 25 years. Enlisted then officer.

Do officers live in dorms ? Or is there a differing housing rules?

@@zionblack8829 All tech training house their students in some form of "lodging"... Depending on the duration of that training (Pilot training - which is over a year), there are different circumstances; you're able to bring family with you. If you're single, and completed tech training--you'll be able to live wherever you please. Granted this is dependent on base/branch.
