You do you Joel..! I managed to escape the city Corporate grind about 15 years ago. They were all "so jealous you're going to live the dream" and bemoaning their enslavement yet NONE were willing to do things differently even when I pointed out that they were the only one's keeping themselves in jobs they hated. Roll the clock forward, like you I didn't waste my pay on drinking every weekend, parties, meals out all the time etc etc.. I worked VERY hard for 10 years farming and have retired about 20 years early... in my book, you're absolutely 💯 % on the right track. Oh my Heavens! I can’t believe people think that you don’t work that many hours! I was thinking that you must work 40-60 hours a week in order to make a decent wage….some weeks maybe less, and some weeks,much more….AND, you have to self-motivate yourself to get the work done! I don’t think people realize how much work goes into creating videos. On top of that the Instagram posts, Reels and TikTok‘s. Maybe a little bit of Facebook and Twitter too and that’s just for this channel and then you have your other two channels and there’s all the planning and coordination. It’s a lot. And now you’ve added in podcasting and everything that entails. Why should you even have to justify it to anyone anyways? I am impressed that you find time in your day to always go to the gym and go for dog walks. I also work from home and I never seem to find the time. How do you do it? I guess you just have to do it. It’s commendable.

Absolutely! I totally agree with this! I work from home for a global corporation and despite the fact that I can take a short break or my hour long lunch, I still can’t get anything extra done around the house…LOL, maybe it’s age with me but Joel you are doing a great job juggling your channels and voiceovers, tik tok, instagram, etc. and I totally agree that you don’t need to explain or justify your schedule or lifestyle or finances to anyone…..maybe people are just curious, but I don’t think I could question someone like that…I know it’s none of my business.

I've worked for myself from home for 25 years now and I still get people thinking I sit around all day doing nothing. I'm often out doing things in my own time during the day. Then those same people make comments like, "Oh no... you have to work all weekend? That sucks." But I took off all day on a Wednesday, so I can just make up for it on a Sunday... or a Monday night... or whenever the mood strikes me. I'm very impressed that you and Keegan had those conversations on your first date. I can't stand dating and if I'm on a date it's to see if I'd like a long-term relationship with her... I definitely don't want kids or to be with someone with kids... but being that I just turned 55 Thursday (tell Keegan happy birthday, fellow February baby!), anyone I do meet that has kids, they'll be grown and that's probably not as big a deal... but it might be. And it's good to know that right up front. Maybe it's an Aquarius thing haha! If you ever start voice coaching, I will sign up to be a student! I do voiceovers for tech and do a lot of training videos (for designers)... and I love doing that... but I should probably get some formal training someday. Off to see if the member video is up yet! Joel, when you come to Florida drive over to the west coast and go to siesta key beach. it is a 2-hour drive from Orlando. the children will love it. it is always rated the best beach in the USA. the water is very warm and turquoise blue. the sand is as soft as baby powder. this would make a great day trip. trust me on this. do a little research.

Good on you! I'm sure that it takes a lot to constantly come up with new content, capture and edit accordingly. I have worked remotely since 2014 and travel often. I have had coworkers say that it didn't seem as if I did a lot. I went on vacation for 2 weeks and everything fell apart. They couldn't keep up with my workload and realized that I wore many hats. You are like a swan gracefully skimming across the water. But meanwhile madly paddling under the water, out of sight. I scrimped and saved almost every penny I made from work and invested it starting at age 14. Investing in my education, the stock market and in things like a car to help me be mobile to get a job after university. The long-term plan was for me to retire at 40. I accomplished that to the surprise of my employer who had 14 years warning. But was completely unprepared for my departure even though I stayed an extra two months longer than I had intended. (The final interviews for my job were the day before I left.)

Although to each their own. So as I say this remember to always do you because it is your life. And not that there is anything wrong with serious questions on the first date. But the main thing is to establish a connection first. Because you can have an overall good time, but realize it won't go further because the feelings aren't there. IF there is a second date questions like (I won't move to X will you move to y if we make it to the next level(whether that is bf/gf or marriage), and setting boundaries to me makes more sense. I mean first date questions don't have to be just superficial ones like (job, birthday, etc.); they can be deeper, but moving for me is if are at least second date/see them as relationship material. Again this is just my opinion, and you are allowed to do you, and have your opinion..
