How about this theory...Nunes is a better fighter than Rousey. Holm is a better fighter than Rousey. All this talk on why Ronda lost, framing it like it was Ronda's fault not the skills of Nunes. Nunes got on the attack quick, popped her in the mouth hard with powerful, accurate punches. When Ronda tried to clinch, which she did 4-5 times, Amanda fended them off with skill, and continued to pop her in the head with more powerful and accurate punches, always keeping perfect distance, punching from the outside, hitting at the end of punches and not allowing Ronda any chance of getting close enough to initiate clinches. It is a smart strategy to employ against a fighter like Ronda. If Nunes was not skilled enough to fend off those clinches, or not an accurate striker, then there is a good chance Ronda would of been able to get to Nunes, initiate a clinch, and throw her to the ground (where Ronda excels), with Ronda in a great position to initiate a submission. So what won the fight: - Nunes' attacking quickly; rocking her early - Popping Ronda in the face with accurate and powerful punches - Nunes keeping a perfect distance to connect at the end of her punches - Nunes keeping a perfect distance to not allow Ronda to initiate clinches - Nunes ability to easily fend of clinches; preventing any chance of Ronda being able to throw her to the ground

@Roley Surely he has some freedom in his own opinions, and the UFC is moronic if they would try and silence support for a different potential queen-pin at this point, because now, they're gonna lose a shitload of their viewers for the next fight because Nunez is just a little boring pit-bull woman fighter. Maybe they should have told some people to predict Nunez for the win and get her a bit of a following that she now will not has, since everyone is still thinking about Rousey, who was psychologically rekt enough from her last fight.
@RoleyChiu8 жыл бұрын
yeah - Nunez has very little controversy around her. The UFC is like a reality cooking show. They keep the contestants that cause the most drama in the show, regardless of their talent, but will kick them out near the final, leaving the actual talent. If the UFC finds some person who openly dislikes the LGBT community and Nunez stands up for them it would be a GREAT FIGHT. But then again that would never happen lol

Ronda likes to do this special move where she stands tall, grabs the incoming striker's arm and uses that captured arm to reel her opponent in so she can uppercut in close range and then flip her to the ground. I think that's her alternative to shooting. She did it at the Bethe fight and she half attempted it after the second flurry from Nunez. But still, all that goes out the window after a few jabs to Ronda's face. If this was a videogame, there would be a huge circle around her face with the label "WEAK SPOT".
@RoleyChiu8 жыл бұрын
UFC did a great job of protecting Ronda from really world-class opponents during her calculated rise to UFC fame. Inevitably, that sham couldn't last forever before she was forced to face actual talent. I wonder what fighters do to develop stronger chins. Is it one of those things that you either have or you don't?

LOL - Ronda's special move is to fight a bunch of absolutely woeful female fighters, gain a reputation as a god-like fighter that she doesn't deserve, then get annihilated when she goes up against women with even basic fighting skill.

She has amazing talent. Best womans arm bar and could be the best wrestler if she tried. The fight was lost before she got into the ring preparing on striking with a striker not wrestling with one.

Rogans trying to cover his ass for all the hype he gave rousey over the years
@tap63544 жыл бұрын
RTV have people not been wrong before? He’s clearly talked about how wrong he was with Rhonda and how much of a hype train she had. Is this the first time you’ve seen this pod cast? He clearly has said he was wrong, saying he’s “covering his ass” comes from someone who does that frequently. Just because YOU can’t admit you’re wrong and “cover your ass” doesn’t mean everyone does that, some of us are adults.

@@tap6354 Few are THAT wrong. He literally cried as he told her how amazingly perfect and great her striking is, and that she might be able to beat Floyd Mayweather. That's normal fanboy behavior for a teenager, but an MMA analyst in his 50's should be a bit more circumspect and less of an embarrassing weepy cheerleader.
@tap63544 жыл бұрын
H Gibson few are that wrong? Really? Pretty much the whole mma community felt she was unstoppable, or did you forget that? I agree, he definitely went over the top with her, and at that time I disagreed with his assessment but that doesn’t mean people can’t change their opinion or even admit they we wrong. Pretty simple concept to an adult, don’t you think?

Joe talks about Ronda like she just got caught with a big punch and that was the only issue. Rafael Dos Anjos got caught by a big punch from Alvarez early; you cannot say that this is the same scenario, those guys were quite equally matched. You can't just say, she got caught by a huge punch and that was the issue. Amanda 'caught' her with multiple combinations on the button from the get go because of major defensive errors. How the fuck are you gonna call that, getting caught? "She's stung 10 seconds in!" Yeah but look at her foot placement 10 seconds in, look at her arms. Pause it at 11:23 or 11:24, look at her posture, arms out, standing tall, feet together, right in front of Amanda in punching range... I mean how is that 'getting caught'... There was a CLEAR issue with Ronda. I don't know if they coddled her in sparring or she just forgot how much aggression was needed to blow through her previous opponent's stand up to get the clinch, but something was off. She is so tough in there, she got hit with massive punches, and she usually gets hit coming in, even when she wins fights, but she didn't seem to remember what gave her the wins previously. Tenacity, aggression and complete bullrushing into a clinch, literally every time. Not one minute of Edmond's boxing training has ever won her the fights she's won, it was all due to her mentality, tenacity and judo. She needed to duck and dive at Amanda's body and hold on for dear life, but instead she listened to fuckboy Edmond and thought "I spar with Olympic boxers, I can take her." Feel really annoyed for Ronda, her camp is toxic.
