1:40 THANK YOU for showing how you got that lid off! I had been trying for half the day today to get the lid off on mine and couldn't get it to budge! There were no instructions in the little pamphlet and none of the other videos actually showed how they got the lid off! Yours did! Thanks! 😊

🤔Chef Joe, I don't know why Ninja didn't design the Sizzle with one plate with the flat plate & griddle flip-able ( 🤑 Cost and space saver )
@JoesPhenomenal9 ай бұрын
That's a pretty fantastic idea.
@dblgrch1Ай бұрын
Because you'd lose heat when you flipped the grill side down and you wouldn't be able to have a drip tray
@JoesPhenomenalАй бұрын
@dblgrch1 that can probably be engineered to address that stuff, but it would make it a little taller I would think, and there's not a ton of room in there to play with. I'm sure they could figure something out though.

I replaced my Foodi XL with a Sizzle. I am missing some functionality like air frying, but I have a Combi that. The Sizzle doesn't have to fancy LED screen and you can't set cooking time, but cleaning and space considerations have won me over. The XL just took up too much space for me. I absolutely love being able to cook a full breakfast in about 5 minutes on the Sizzle with minimal cleanup.
@JoesPhenomenal7 күн бұрын
Yeah... It definitely has some nice utility to it.
@salmonella4u26 күн бұрын
After having the Foodi XL smart grill for two years, I have to replace it. That, is mainly because the coating on the grill plate began flaking so badly, that when one edge piece came off, it was hard and very sharp. If I accidentally swallowed that, I could have bled internally. As it is, who knows how much of the rest of the coating I've ingested. I went about seeing if I could replace the grill plate, and found that it would cost me $85 to replace it. Instead, I ordered a unit that was a step below this model grill and instead of costing around $ 250 or so, I spent $90 on a new one, which has basically the same functions and has the smart thermometer too. So, I'll have to see how this one is going to fare.
@JoesPhenomenal23 күн бұрын
Whoa...scary stuff with that teflon flaking on ya. Gotta chuck those things at the first sign of damage there. It's amazing how the replacement parts often cost more than just getting a new machine... Having the smart thermometer is a really cool, useful feature too.
@salmonella4u23 күн бұрын
@@JoesPhenomenal There was an aftermarket aluminum grill on the market, which didn't need a teflon coating, but now I can't find it anywhere. But either way, if this new grill develops the same issues, I won't buy another one. The strange thing is, since I'd started using the grill I already have, I developed many health issues that I don't even want to get into. Might worry many people. Coincidence or not. Who knows.
@JoesPhenomenal13 күн бұрын
@salmonella4u one thing about those nonstick coatings is that you gotta keep an eye on em... If they start to flake off, then you wanna stop using them. They are supposed to be pretty safe if they don't get damaged, but there's a lot of debate around that, too.
@salmonella4u13 күн бұрын
@@JoesPhenomenal I can't be much more careful than I already am with it. I wish someone would start to use Granitewear or something. It seems to be safer and more durable.

@salmonella4u agreed... Ceramics are having pretty good results too.

The sizzle puts in work but if you cook thinner meats you'll have to use a higher temp to get the grill marks and not over cook, which will also cause more smoke. I do like being able to grill around 2 lbs of meat at once though. I've grilled 3.5 lbs of chicken tenderloins in around 25 minutes. It's pretty uniform with the temp too

I find that most indoor grills are not Smokeless, but Smoke Less than if fat/oil was falling on the elements. I have a Ninja Sizzle. The Griddle is flat, but the Grill is angled to promote fat/oil into the drip tray area.

Good stuff Joe! I have the big Ninja Food Smart Lid multi cooker. If you have to add one of these two grills to complement the Fooji, which one would you suggest? rgds
@JoesPhenomenal3 ай бұрын
If you already have the Smart Lid Pressure cooker, I'd probably get the sizzle. It's cheaper, does some nice grilling, is easier to clean, and your multicooker already handles most of what the XL does. The sizzle does produce a lot of smoke though. I'd recommend using it near your range hood or in a well ventilated area.
@martinlegui10003 ай бұрын
Thanks for your answer Joe. Sizzle being too smoky can be a big downside for me as I live in an apartment and that’s one of the reasons I got the Foodi Smart Lid. Also, there are Great deals going on at Amazon and the price difference between the Sizzle and the XL can be as low as 20 bucks right now. Tough choice!
@JoesPhenomenal3 ай бұрын
@martinlegui1000 if that smoke is an issue, I'd stick with the xl grill... It still produces some, but the sizzle can get be a little nuts with that.

Small kitchen and hate the cooking smell does it make it smell?
@JoesPhenomenalКүн бұрын
@Rama_248 if you have a microwave over your range, I would use the fan on it and put the grill on your cook top... They both create some smoke so that smell travels. The Foodi XL does do a better job than the sizzle though.

I’d suggest sound baffling in the new studio.. or more of it and bring the boom mic down just out of shot.
@JoesPhenomenal9 ай бұрын
I actually use a wireless lav. Was gonna do the boom, but I move around too much for it to be practical. In the studio, I'm making a bunch of acoustic panels for the walls and ceiling though. Also, my audio iant quite right now, since all my Adobe settings are from my last house, and this one place has terrible echo in the kitchen, so I've just been trying to hurry get then the studio ready.

@@JoesPhenomenal i know what you mean. I just finished a studio space for recording I use an NTG mic from Rode. It’s worked very well, especially shots like this one. I built baffling panels that I mounted to the wall. You can also put down rugs or hang rugs. It’s cheap and cheerful. If you’re using DaVinci Resolve, the sound isolation is extremely good. 👍

They don't advertise it, so I can assume it isn't the best surface. Some people say ceramic, but I would think they would mention that if it were. That being said, I haven't had any scratching or flaking... and yes.. totally agree with you about that smokeless claim. It definitely isn't great in that area. Because it’s work with electricity Do you have an idea how much is the electricity bill in a month after using this Ninja device?
@JoesPhenomenal8 ай бұрын
It depends how often it gets used, for how long, and especially what you pay for power where you are. To figure it out take the wattage, convert to kw, and then you know how much power it used in an hour.. Then you can look at yiur power will and see what you pay. For example, 1200 watts would be 1.2kw used in 1 hour. At my house, we go through 3000 kw per month on average, but we use a lot of power.
