Thanks Joe! Merry Christmas! New tunnel/Giga Texas Offsite Wastewater Interceptor Project: @ 15:07 Based on information pieced together from permits, here is what we know..... * The wastewater interceptor will be a 5' to 6' diameter pipe. Running parallel to, and slightly east of the gas pipeline. Depth is 40' in the vicinity of the AE transmission line monopole (seen @ 14:48 Upper right). * Tunnel bore is about 7'. * They will use a method called micro tunneling. There will be multiple vertical work shafts (Documentation mentions "work shaft 4" ), and they will tunnel between them. * Map shows the interceptor line running from the location of the southbound offramp, on the other side of the river, and heading north to about the location of the Cybertruck tunnel. However, the map is incomplete and doesn't show the full extent of the project. The reason the map is incomplete is that it is from the gas pipeline project (See sheet 19 if you have the plans). So it only shows utilities in the area of the gas pipeline. * The Wastewater Interceptor will likely cross under 130 and head east to the wastewater treatment plant. * It will be gravity fed, not pressurized like the force main on the eastside. What is unknown..... * The full alignment of interceptor line. * Whether they will connect existing force mains to the new interceptor line. Speculation.... * Pipe will be concrete with steel reinforcing collars and rubber gaskets. * Possible HDD bores or micro tunneling under 130 to connect existing wastewater force mains. * We may see a tunnel under the Cybertruck tunnel. For those who haven't been following this.... Once again, many thanks to Dessie and Frank for the permit info they provided. If I overlooked anything, they can add to it.

Thanks Joe Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you and all your patrons, and youtube followers. *Sort by Newest First or Top Comments if only the first few lines are visible* 0:45. Joe kindly flips the video as a Christmas present to those in RHD countries. 8:24. Southend, east. Apron. Large dump truck approaching the east-west vehicle passageway. Empty, still digging somewhere inside. Stamping 2 perhaps. 12:37. Highway berm. Suction excavation truck. Line of surveyors flags along the berm. 15:11. Westside, new project. Setting up to construct a deep shaft using sunk caissons. 2 sizes of formwork for different diameter caissons. Circular formwork with a removable floor beside the crane will be shifted to the circle cleared of gravel. Formwork used to construct a concrete ring (not a tank). When cured the floor of the formwork is removed, ground inside the ring excavated, concrete ring then sunk/jacked downwards. Subsequent rings constructed on top, shaft excavated again, ring sunk again. Repeat until designed depth is reached. Various videos about constructing sunk caissons are on youtube. A number of these shafts will be constructed as part of the wastewater project. Shafts used to launch micro-tunnelling equipment (small TBMs, or pipe-jacking machines). All part of a pipeline project to connect to the water treatment plant south of the river. 16:45. Westside, Tunnel Project. MotherTruck. Roof sheeting. Still not obvious how it is being attached. No fixings visible. Vertical door guide track added each side. 18:21. GA, apron. Concrete pump parked. Couple of glazed units removed on Level 3 immediately to the right. Pumping through the window opening in the live stream video. 18:46. Battery/GA. New entry. Ramp and stairs. Security card controlled doors inside. 19:32. Battery, roof. Gear hoisted up on the crane. There was a regular flue here. Replaced by this powered flue. Frame large enough for additional units. Flues seen on the apron in Joe’s previous video at 24.50 top right. 19:50. Battery, roof. Membrane peeled back. Removing the trafficable insulation layer. 21:33. Casting, north. Paving repairs in front of the triplet doors, and the door on the diagonal corner. 22:11. Casting, east. Flue and heat-exchanger structure. Flue exiting through the wall has been clad with an insulation blanket. 22:35. Casting, east. Inside. White motors seen being delivered in Joe’s previous video at 24.09. 24:02. Temporary Switchyard site. Auger/screw piles trimmed to height.

The Fariday Cage suggest that the footing with 8 piles, by the tunnel exit is likely a communations tower. I was thinking a large LED sign. The cage could be for lightening protection and it is exciting to see what they do.
@DavidJohnson-tv2nn21 күн бұрын
My thoughts are that it will be demolished or just abandoned like so many other unfinished things around the site. It appears that the 'faraday cage' was originally planned to sit on those 8 piles. It currently is supported by 8 identical piles. My guess is that there was a change of plans with the construction of the gas pipeline and it's easement, or the current wastewater interceptor project.

Note: For the Wastewater Interceptor Project, see my other comment. New Megapack site: @ 23:53 (Lower right) Two steel beams crossing the trench are temporarily supporting the 2 duct-banks to the Cathode Building/Die Shop, while stormwater pipe sections are placed underneath. @ 24:05 Screw piles have been trimmed to the correct height. Wild speculation which could very well be wrong.... The screw piles may support medium voltage busbar structures to collect power from the Megapacks/transformers, heading to the north end of the yard, where the medium voltage duct-banks are located. Substation expansion project: @ 24:34 (Lower left) Good view of the conduits in the trench for a duct-bank under the fence. Which will bring power into the vault and switchgear building. @ 24:47 (Lower left) Drop lines still need to be connected from the overhead lines to the short busbars below (See the bays to the west for an example). Same @ 24:58

A pretty interesting view at 9•29 into the video of the wall panels. I never realised that they are NOT flush, perpendicular to the side of the building, and indeed, angle outwards from the top of the building before angling inwards towards the ground from where the two halves meet at the midpoint.

What a disaster of the roof failure you show. It appears that it’s an adhered system by view of the ribbon lines over the insulation, if it is they should have used 60 mil EPDM (Firestone or Carlisle). However, it seems like the EPDM detached from the insulation substrate. If that were the case the insulation used was the wrong specification. Maybe it was rigid urethane foam sheets that failed, maybe it should have been foam glass panels that are much stronger. It could also be the attachment of the insulation to the concrete fill, usually the concrete fill is lightweight concrete using fly ash as the aggregate, so if the insulation fasteners were attached to the concrete they may have pulled out. I would guess the architect/engineer didn’t want to penetrate the steel decking which would have made a positive connection. This is a huge cost and I would guess the entire roof is like this and have similar problems down the road. If so, there’s probably finger pointing going on as to who pays for the repairs. Wind uplift on a surface like this is no joke. I would temp to use concrete block pavers after adherence but adds an incredible amount of weight to the roof structure, besides I’m sure contractors are using the roof beams or bar joist to carry additional (other appurtenance) loads. I don’t think we’ve seen the end to this roof problem especially the area under the solar panels. I would have picked a mechanically attached EPDM roof from the start. I’m a Structural Engineer and attended the Johns-Manville Roofing Institute a Berkshire Hathaway Company and many Carlisle EPDM Training Seminars.

Joe, I see in your video a few OSHA violations with the Boring Company employees walking the roof purlins without fall protection and they can’t use that step ladder leaning against the building for access to the roof. Even so, the step ladder is not tied off. I’m sure there’s many violations found in your videos but this one is clearly evident. Elon has to get his workers safety trained, this is on him. I know, I’m OSHA certified safety engineer on construction projects. All workers on my projects must be drug tested and view our 40 minute safety video and sign off. If anyone violates our safety program they are fired on the spot. Also, we randomly pick workers to be drug tested during the project. Positive results are immediate dismissal.

Perfect example of how to stretch jobs to make more money. So many examples of jobs that should be finished in weeks at most taking months. But there are some examples of how to do it right, fast and efficient. Maybe contractors should be paid per job not per day. And if there are costly overruns those contractors not allowed to bid for jobs again.
@Frank-gt7me22 күн бұрын
Likely not the contractors’ fault. I suspect Tesla puts a lot of projects on hold and/or changes requirements along the way. The construction workers are likely paid by the hour by their employer, but Tesla would have contracted a fixed price per project (although change orders would cost extra).
