How do you think the MP560 would work on grinding pine stumps in the 8"-10" range to 1" below grade with a 75 HP John Deere 5075E? I am having 3 acres of pine forest timbered. I was wondering if I cut the pine stumps with my chain saw to ground level, would the MP560 be able to grind the remaining stump to 1" below ground level?
@JoeTheFarmer7 ай бұрын
I think it would clear them easily. The hardest part is your 5075 prob has power shuttle so learning to slowly feather into it would be the only challenge. But man, that tree saw by Baumalight would keep you from needing to use a chainsaw. That thing is impressive. But yes, the mulcher should clear pine as long as the stumps are reasonable and you take it slow. The thing is a hunk of iron. Can’t break it.

Watched a lot of mulching videos lately and would love to have one. I think they just might be one of the more valuable tools you can have for the homestead. My little Mahindra won't run one, I don't think, but I would sure like to have one to deal with all this privet and bamboo around here!
@JoeTheFarmer6 ай бұрын
Hey! It's been eye opening really. It's almost like a mower/mulcher/tiller and flail in one. And does all of the above pretty well. They make a smaller one that Tony has run on his 25hp tractor but I haven't tried that one. I can say that it would devour privet and bamboo. We will have some more Baumalight attachments to demo and can't wait. Thanks for watching!
@RichardMixon-m2g6 ай бұрын
Dont they have a skid steer mount that is hydraulic? Could you have gotten that and put it on your lift on front of the tractor to enable driving forward?
@JoeTheFarmer6 ай бұрын
Great question. Yes they do; but not for a tractor. The Skid Steer would handle it well because of higher hydraulic flow. A tractor at best is 10-12 gpm where a high flow skid steer is up to 40. Just not enough flow in a 3rd function.

Wow. That's really good math. Thanks for sharing that!
@brianlb785 ай бұрын
A forestry mulcher even on a skid steer will take down 8-12" diameter trees though this wont. This is nice but what it's taken down isn't much bigger than what a rotary cutter can take down or a flail mower. I'd like to see it on a 6" diameter tree or something, otherwise most of what was done here could be done by pushing it over with the feel or one of the mowers I mentioned and you don't have to worry about a large section shooting under the tractor ripping of a line or something.
@bonsukan6 ай бұрын
Cool implement, Joe. What’s the limit on tree size for that mulcher?
@JoeTheFarmer6 ай бұрын
Varies by the size of the machine; but 8 would say 4-6 inches easy. The implement would take more, just not sure the tractor would.

Hey! Thanks for watching. I talk about this in my next video coming out (tomorrow or Wed). I had the mulcher too high and was just too skittish to put it in the dirt. It can take anything man. Fortunately it was easy to learn. Thanks for asking and let me know if it doesn't address your question.

Biggest improvement they could make that seems like they are consciously trying to avoid is adding bite limiters…this would significantly reduce the throwing things under the tractor and a finer finish. As for there brush cutter they should get ride of the silly arms holding the blades and use a flywheel/rotor design instead. These 2 changes would bring there products to world class.

With my luck I'd shoot a stick into my transmission filter in the first 5 minutes of operation, just enough to create a fine mist of oil blowing around. Then hit a rock or metal, causing a bunch of sparks. And then catch myself on fire with the oil spraying around. Only a slight exaggeration...
