These really are well thought out. Haven’t hunted this one yet but really enjoyed it last year. 23 degrees and windy but it cut the cold breeze really well! -JTF

@@JoeTheFarmer how well does it do in the wind.
@JoeTheFarmer

Actually really well. Way better than a pop up blind. I always seem to find those a hundred yards away from where I left them!

What kind of anchoring system do they have?
@JoeTheFarmer
@JoeTheFarmer 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Tim, it comes with stakes similar to a pop up but the frame and fabric make it a lot heavier so not as prone to blowing over like a pop up blind. Also, the shape seems to make it more wind resistant. I am a big fan man; these are a great compromise between a cheapo pop up and a more expensive box blind. Time will tell on durability in the elements. Thanks for watching! -JTF

How did you like it? Can it handle high winds? I hunt Oklahoma and it gets really windy.

Man; it is really well built. I used the anchors that came with it and even with some windy storms it hasn’t moved. I would get some longer anchors but would totally recommend it. Get the warrior though; the scout is too small imo. 😁👍🏼

@@JoeTheFarmer What are you going to stake it down with? I’m assuming the stakes either have a piece that comes out of the frame on the inside or drilled into the frame. If you have time can you send me pictures? I’ll reply back with a few of our OK bucks from the past two seasons. Csogle31@icloud.com 120*, 143, 151, 156, 161” - I miss ID’d the 120 buck last light. He was 3.5 with a 2” drop tine. It happens sometimes... My 156 had almost 50” of mass.

Would you recommend this for mobile use? I recently got my blind stolen so I’m forced to take everything with me in and out of the woods

Sorry to hear that brother. I would definitely recommend it. It’s not light (about 50 lbs) so if you have a way to drive it in it would work. But if you are walking in I would stick with a pop up blind.

Deer are a real problem in Australia. The deer are feral, escaping from zoos, farms or who knows where. Maybe someone’s pet got away. A colleague of mine hunts them. He says there are two main species of feral deer in Australia. One is from India, the other I think from Europe. They are a pest, destroying crops and even destroying orchard trees like mine. Fortunately I’ve not seen them near my place. I’m not into hunting. Actually I don’t own a rifle. I used to but handed it in in 1996 after the gun laws changed in Australia. It was such a hassle to own a rifle I just gave up. Deer hunting seems to be a really big deal in America. Can you explain why it is so popular? You hunting tent seems the go. A farmer here said deer are not stupid. If a deer sees him driving his tractor they know he isn’t a threat and ignore him. However if they see him walking they will run away.

Hey Karl! Deer certainly can be a pest to farms, agriculture, crops, etc. They will also wreak havoc on your garden, roses, tulips, etc. They are smart animals in that they can pattern humans as well as we can TRY to pattern them. Their ability to survive is uncanny and their genetic makeup make them natural survivors. I don't want to speak for others and I hope some others will chime in; but for me...hunting has a lot more to do with being in a natural element and seeing wildlife up close and personal. It is actually more fun to me to set the chess board and prepare for the hunt, locations, wind, etc than to actually take the shot. Our vision for our land is to make it a place where we could sustain ourselves if need be and wild game is a part of that. There is something instinctive about hunting (albeit with fancy modern tools) and it pays homage to our ancestors. It is important for me to also teach my children where food comes from. It is a blessing to have food, and I think there is a lot of value for people to see that the food that we enjoy was once a living thing (animal, plant, etc). Not to feel sorry for it (though that is natural), but to feel immense gratitude for what is on your plate. Finally; Venison when prepared right is delicious, very healthy, organic and the animal lives a full and free life right up to the point of its exit. That is not always the case for other animals. Hunting is not for everyone and I 100% respect that. It is far easier to buy vegetables at a store...I would just rather pick them from a garden if given the choice. I feel the same way about meat. Anyway, long answer but you asked! Thanks for writing, I always enjoy your input. :) -JTF
