"I do not like seeing those who have led fulfilled lives end up as if they never were." -Decim, Death Parade "I think we're better off having more than one way to judge." -Nona, Death Parade "In order to accomplish anything, sacrifices must be made." -Tastumi, Death Parade *"People aren't as complex as you think they are. They're simple, and they get sad or angry over simple things. That's just how they are! The smallest things can set them off, and they live without knowing what will happen to them. That's what makes them human!" -Chiyuki, Death Parade* "In truth, no life is impeccably beautiful." -Nona, Death Parade "It's absurd how humans all behave the same way. They all forget that they're going to die someday, yet the moment they come face to face with death, they cling to life." -Qinti, Death Parade "All my friends, and even my family… were all strangers in a very real sense, you know?" -Chiyuki, Death Parade "Do not forget that you will surely die someday, and as such, that is all the more reason to live now." -Decim, Death Parade "To suffer, yet stand firm- that's what life is, isn't it?" -Nona, Death Parade

And in the wise words of Arkada... "The ending is paramount."
@TopNimes9 жыл бұрын
Camryn Sheehan Thats bs you know? A show with a terrible start and middle cant redeem itself from having a good ending. (Code Geass R2)
@flamefriends38429 жыл бұрын
HalfMoon γρ I haven't seen that myself, so I can't say one way or the other, but I never said anything in relation to "the ending is always the best." I get the feeling you've misinterpreted the word "paramount." By definition, paramount refers to something that is more important than anything else, not necessarily something better. In Ark's statement, he is saying that the ending is the thing that can make or break a show. However, if a show is all around terrible, it generally won't have a good ending anyway.
@TopNimes9 жыл бұрын
Thats still not true.
@flamefriends38429 жыл бұрын
HalfMoon γρ I've stated my case. If you have any further arguments, you can address them to Arkada. He is the one I quoted, anyway
@TopNimes9 жыл бұрын
Already did that, is not like is going to read it anyway, besides even if you are quoting it, you obviously agree and acknowledge it so I can still have a argument with you, . First of all the ending is only but the very last episode of what can be a one hundred episode long series. Placing too much attention to 1% of the whole duration is silly. Then we have the fact that most series don’t have an ending to begin with. Whether it’s because they didn’t sell enough or were nothing more than advertisements for the source material, at least two thirds of them are left incomplete. And as if that wasn’t enough, most of the other third which do have an ending, do a very crappy job at wrapping things up. That means you will automatically hate most anime in existence just because the ending is not good. As if that wasn’t enough, even those few series that have a solid ending, are almost always underwhelming. If the story writer does a proper job at wrapping up all its plot points without being messy or rushed, means that there isn’t anything left to show in the last episode because by then everything is already finished. It will feel empty and boring. Even if the ending happens to be super spectacular, what does it matter if the rest of the series is a piece of shit? You can’t possibly forgive a gazillion problems just because you liked one episode. If a series doesn’t grab you within a few episodes, what does it matter how it ends? You will either drop it, or won’t care by the time it finishes.

@MillenialsWeebu9 жыл бұрын
I cried like a biatch in that last episode 😭😭😭 This series had a very interesting plot twist, on the last ep, the scenes that Decim held his heart and cried out "it's hurt a lot" crush my feelings :((( It's ep 8 or 9, I don't remember, when a woman was sent to hell because she was trying to kill the other contestant in a game, the reason why she was desperately did so because she want to be back to her childs, she cried out like "plz send me back to my childs" and the flashback of her past made my heart broken. She was judged to send to hell because of that and I went crazy. Some comments said she deserved that result because she was too cruel to everybody beside her children, But for me, I pretty much understand those cruel actions of her. I hate that episode! I was like "who the hell was he!!!" And "you don't have a right to judge that woman". And because of that episode I dropped the series at that time. Still, that 2 last episode, when Chiyuki tried to stop that man and that emotion-changes of his... Made me speechless...it's hurt a lot This series is epic, it has its deep messages in it. If you haven't watched it, I strongly recommend you to watch it now 😂😂😂

This deserved more episodes (maybe 20-22 eps total is enough). The foreshadowing I think got overused that it's hard for me to "assume" the personalities, abilities and plans of every other characters in Quindecim. A few more eps of explanation maybe before the ending, but not completely, to let the viewers think for themselves. Nice review btw. Can't think of a good anime/manga to recommend atm. Maybe at your next review.

Death Parade is one of my favorites (if not my absolute favorite) animes ever. The art and animation are both so amazing and unique, the story / ending are perfect and everything was wrapped up nicely, and I think they did ALMOST all the characters enough justice (the only character I was left truly wondering about in the end was Castra, as she was only in one episode, but seemed to have a really important role). I thought it was absolutely wonderful (I cried in almost every single episode) and its rewatch value for me is extremely high. The emotions I felt during it will never be forgotten and I'm glad to see it's getting more recognition nowadays (I watched it almost immediately after it came out, so it wasn't getting noticed that much).

Thoughtful video! Do you think there are specific features for specific genres? Like blond or silver hair character for romantic anime? Do you know "Basquash"? it's a sport-focused anime. One might say there are black characters to meet some expectations. Indeed, what you would be an anime talking about basketball without black characters? (having in mind the numbers of black players and various olympic champions for example) Maybe, these specific features are there, not to represent the audience itself, but the ideas the audience has attached to certain topics and certain characters... I would say it's beyond Anime

After almost 8 years I have finally watched it and dam this is vary good I love the message of it although I don’t think I understand it fully the only thing is we didn’t get a lot of caricature developed for caricatures like the flower guy but over all this is one of my favorite anime 9/10
