@redgrapeskins No sir, this IS from 1964. First off, Carson was always aired in color from the beginning, we only see B/W clips of a lot of stuff because they were preserved in B/W only despite first airing in color. Second, this clip comes from a larger promotional film Johnny, Ed and Skitch Henderson did for GE lightbulbs and I have the whole promotional film and it's from 1964.

@redgrapeskins You don't know what you're talking about, with all due respect. I HAVE the complete GE promo film from which this clip comes from, and that promo film is from 1964. Skitch Henderson, who LEFT the Tonight Show in 1966 is at the desk in this film where Johnny then INTRODUCES this clip, and furthermore they are talking about the 1964 presidential campaign when they are hosting the promo film. This is not 1969 except in your vivid imagination.

Fantastic! Thanks! The quality of the entertainment (and it's value) far outweigh whatever complaints anyone has about the quality. In the future, or whenever possible, please consider having the film digitally transferred to 1040p or now 4000p, which is quickly coming into vogue. Thanks again, i l.m.a.o. & Joey was FAB!

Joey has a brother Dick who worked as a disc jockey. And she once did a summer TV show with her father Ray in 1975. Joey was a frequent guest on Dean Martin's tv show and went on Bob Hope's USO shows to entertain the troops. She was also in those commercials for Serta mattresses. Wikipedia says she was married only once, to footballer Lance Rentzel, but their marriage ended in divorce. Don't know what she's doing now. She turns 74 on Sept. 14..

Fascinating life -- a very talented woman who never got lots of breaks, but never "the" break. "...an almost preternatural glow that people in the industry like to call star power -- today, you'd probably say she had the 'it' factor." I don't think anybody has used the term "the it factor" since Eleanor Glynn tagged Clara Bow with the term in the 1920's! And Brenda Lee had already had a huge hit with "Sorry" when Heatherton covered it -- it wasn't "original" to Joey. And the name of the dance she "famously" taught Carson to do is pronounced the "froog." Here's the video; kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJLGlJ6jjZh1obc
