Not everyone are big fans of these two but you gotta give them credit for having feelings for each other back and forth. I mean Rachel’s little Hmmmmmm was so cute and later on when Rachel saw Joey acting in a romantic drama as Dr. Drake, I mean he was very handsome. Can you blame them seriously for falling for each other they have a good eye and good taste. Even though this was never meant to be let’s not hate too much in an alternate universe who knows this kinda fits in someways is kinda sincere you gotta admit.

I watched it in real time (when it 1st came out in the 90s and each season was in 1 year) and had to wait a whole year for the next season. So maybe that has influenced my opinion, but anyway, I don't think the Rachel Joey thing was unreasonable. Ross and Rachel were lagging so much, so I don't know, at the time the Joey and Rachel thing, it didn’t annoy me, I liked it.

I like this storyline and makes all the sense to me: they cared for each other, they were sexy and good-looking together... I prefer this relationship over the toxic coming together and going apart of Ross and Rachel. I would have liked very much that they had more screen time together.

Rachel and Joey had such a strong platonic friendship for most of the series, so it felt like a cop out to pair them up so late in the run. Even Matt and Jen reportedly felt very creepy while filming the scenes.

I always thought that Joey falling in love with Rachel was a well done arc and served as a testament to the group's strong friendship. The only reason they didn't work out as a couple (for me) is that while Joey genuinely fell in love with Rachel, Rachel only saw him as a crush and didn't share that level with him.

I concede that it is weird to fall in love of your friends after like 8-9 years, but i swear it is possible. One day you can wake up and eventually fall in love, even though you've been in a 100% platonic friendship for a WHILE. Hence you start spending a little more time with the person, paying a little more attention, being a little nicer; and at the end of day it might win over the other's feeling. I'm not saying it was the best choice the writers did, they could've done so much better, for example joey falling in love but not rachel would've been much more realistic, but I don't think they wrote a scenario so unrealistic.

This is the one story arc that makes me cringe any time I watch this part of the series. Joey and Rachel had ZERO chemistry as a couple. They had perfect chemistry as a platonic relationship but not as a couple. Even Matt and Jennifer said they didn’t like it which should tell you everything: I’ve been on the record saying they should’ve had Joey and Phoebe together because they always had the best chemistry.

Tbh, I actually thought this storyline was kinda cute. Not because I wanted Joey to end up with Rachel because they weren’t a good couple at all but, I just love how we got to see a different side of Joey. It was only an innocent crush and he didn’t want to act upon it. Plus it showed that Joey could have been a good boyfriend to some other woman. I felt so bad for Joey in these episodes. I just feel like the creators could have just ended the Joey and Rachel story arc there instead of having Rachel crush on Joey and date him. Now that’s where it felt forced and took a wrong turn. I wish the creators had Joey end up with someone in the end. And fyi, I don’t ship Rachel with Joey nor with Ross either. Monica and Chandler were my favorite couple on the show.

Joey being the biggest hypocrite as he made Chandler BEG for forgiveness and then put himself in a box because he fell in love with just one of Joey's girlfriends and breaking the "code." And how was it not super creepy to suddenly fall in love with a woman who is carrying your best friend's child. This was just sick.

Those are feelings there isn't any on and off switch for that they just happen to sprout and Joey wasn't mad at Chandler because he fell in love with his girlfriend he was mad because he never told him before kissing her here Joey first talked to Ross after Ross said he was ok with it he then confessed his feelings Joey in this season didn't kiss her or confess before talking to Ross so there is a difference between Chandler and his situation.

It’s a different situation. Kathy was with Joey when Chandler kissed her. Rachel wasn’t with Ross when Joey confessed his feelings for her, and he didn’t kiss her either so nothing happened
