I will be forever grateful for not only the person who heard baby Joey and called for people to rescue him, but also the whole team of the Vancouver aquarium who are always looking after little Joey!! You guys do so, so much and I am so grateful! The story of how he ended up here is just so sad, but God was looking out for him 🥺🙏🏼 He knew that you would be safe in the hands of professionals. So, thank you, for looking after little Joey. He is so precious and I am so thankful for everything you guys have done for him! Feedings, caring, grooming we followed along. We fell in love with you, adopted you as our own. We watch you sleep. We grew anxious with all your meeps. Through a glass door, in the middle of the night, you could not believe your eyes neither could we. More like you than we. They even brought a ball as a gift. Soon you left your den and joined the rest. Your new family of other otters your friends. Oh Joey Joey how we love you we miss your baby days we are sad. Sniff, sniff....our baby has grown up and is now part of a wonderful otter family. So glad we have been able to go on this journey with him and his awesome caregivers at MMR and Vanaqua! While I miss those first few months of all Joey all the time, I love that he has friends to play and cuddle with now.🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦

Been following Joey daily since the 1st of August 2019 when he was a few weeks old, now he weighs 30 lbs, a big boy! Sea otters are not grown until 3 to 4 years old, the males can get near 70 lbs. The Marine Centre, carers and all the volunteers do a magnificent job with all the 7 otters there, the oldest is 8 yrs, Joey will be 6 months Jan. 3, and the next to Joey is a year old, three 4 yr olds and a 5 yr old I believe. Joey is in with them now, difficult to even tell which one is him, he's gotten so big, baby Joey all grown up.
