He has to get into the mindset of a cat. I've commented this, but he's not read it, but if he would have taken that box and left ALL sides enclosed and then just cut out a 1 foot by 1 foot square on one side of the box about a half-foot off the ground, she would have jumped right in and LOVED it....Cats love dark places so they can hide like a cave and peer out and spy on people...it's their hunting gene, and she would pick it to have her kittens because it would be good and hidden to protect from predators.

Update: • kitties who have a close bond with their owner (usually its specifically one) will become very attached and cuddly in hopes it will signal that you will be with them during the birth • a lot of vocalisation also means she may be feeling movement and possibly preparing herself Maybe try and like this so Joey can see? 💗

When my cat was pregnant (both times she refused to go into labor when I wasn’t in the room she literally waiting until I got home from work to go into labor and I had to stay with her in the bathroom for 6 hours until she finally had them. She was doing exactly what your cat is doing being extra cuddly and licking/cleaning me like crazy. So she is definitely very close to having the kittens. And I would try to stay in the room with her so she knows that she is safe with you not just in a box. Love you Joey

MOMA LOLA my cats first liter was all black kittens (she’s a white Siamese/ Himalayan) so I was so confused and then my cats second liter she had a calico, a bangle, 3 albino kittens, a tabby and 2 Siamese (one was real fluffy so mixed with Himalayan and the other one was full Siamese) then a all gray one 🤣 soooo it was very very interesting lol

Pawprint hero's my cat literally refused to give birth until I got home she was in labor / holding it off for 4+ hours and then when I got home I walked into the bathroom and she kept meowing every time I tried to leave even if it was to get water for her she would stop for that time I was gone. Her second liter she literally laid behind me (as if I was her safe spot) until she was fully ready to pop. And then sat next to me and would start pacing if I got up to grab something. So I had to stay in the bathroom with her for 4-6 hours just so she wouldn’t stop in the process. I’m her safe place. I’ve had her for 3 plus years and she has separation anxiety whenever I leave especially when she was younger

She is definitely acting like she's in labor. I've had multiple pregnant foster cats give birth in my home and they act exactly like she is acting, the only thing that differs is the location they choose. She is very vocal, she is very attached to Joey and she keeps her but in the air even if he isn't petting her in that area. The but in the air means it's more comfortable to keep that position which means she's probably already having contractions and the kittens are being pushed to the exit. If he doesn't move her she might give birth on his chest XD Cats will seek a place to give birth were they are most comfortable and because she is so attached to Joey normally, it's not surprising that she want's to be close to Joey when she is in labor.

Some tips for Sir Joey: If she shows alot of love and affection way more than she normally does, that could be a sign that she is in labour and needs comfort. If she keeps meowing and her meows change, like a more painful meow or scared meow (depends if its her first litter) then it could be a sign that she is in labour. If she paces around the room alot, and hides alot more, she is going into labour and wants to hide If she keeps needing, its just a comfort thing. If she doesnt eat, or eats alot more than she could be going into labour. If she keeps constantly licks in her private area, and you notice a bubble , or clear substance or even blood whenever she sits down and stands up, then she is definitley in labour, the clear stuff is her mucus plug, which is what holds the babies in. WARNING: Some babies may be born hours apart (max 4 hours) after that call a vet.. You may have to help her give birth, or perform CPR on a kitten, then call a vet or animal hospital straight away. She may want to be around other females animals or humans, as its a comfort thing, She may not even want anybody to be near her when she gives birth ❤ My Friends mum is a Vet, and she helped my cat deliver 7 babies, and her other litters as well and told me all those tips ❤ Stay safe Joey! So my cat had kittens twice and when I learned if you need to keep everything close to each other like keep a litter box close to where you want her to have her babies and her food and water make sure to give her what food and also make sure it's in like a nice shadowy place and make sure that you there's like no one noise like it has to be in a nice quiet place and make sure to put a nice comfy bed in there to and try using like a like pet crate like what you take her to the vet in and when she has kittens make sure to not touch the kittens till there at least a day old don't separate them from the mom also.

something really important to note is that you do not put the water and food too close to the litterbox. Either she stops eating or starts doing her business somewhere else... but yes.. do not touch the kittens untill they are at least a day old. Only if Sakura needs help delivering the kittens it has to be done. But otherwise good advice.. my cat delivered her kittens at my feet which was surprising and very unique. She most likely drops her kittens where you would not expect her to do so.. cats will be cats. she is in her last stage. So Joey has good instincts.

Those are signs that she is going into labour, I say yes sleep there, she was very cuddly because of the hormones of loving her babies! They are coming soon! If she is moving a lot, especially her belly then she is going into labour! Good luck to you Joey! And when she is in labour give her a lot of space, and making a lot of rooms for her is an excellent idea, I say a good place to make is one that is very dark and makes her feel secure make it EXTRA cozy so that when the kittens come they can be warm, kittens lose body temperature fast, they need to be warm immediately after birth, baths, and feeding time. I suggest get a heat pad so the babies and Sakura can be warm faster and it is very good to have just in general. I suggest also to get lots of blankets, pillows, etcetera. And do NOT help her with birth, only if you absolutely have to help, help Sakura! Comfort her just before she gives birth, pat her and tell her she’s a good girl, and when you see a baby, give her a lot of space for a good while. Make sure the kittens are getting enough milk and suckling properly, make all of the cats feel safe, warm, secure, and overall love them! Give her lots of cuddles! This is just advice Joey, have fun with parenting kittens with Sakura!

Shan Rez you probably are right and seeing as Sakura really likes Joey it’s that’s probably the truth it’s just my friends cat had kittens the cat loved everyone but she was a bit protective at first but it just took a week or so and the cat was fine. Then again though some cats react differently to giving birth and all I know is that the kittens will certainly be happy with the owner and mother they have.

Just a tip for cats: most don't like "big fancy things" and prefer simple things like a couch or a simple corner. They don't usually like large, open boxes (like the one you made) and prefer confined spaces because it makes them feel safe. They also are very independent so they don't like it when you try to get them to go somewhere or do something. They have to be the one to do it on their own. Also, a lot of cats don't like toys. I have two cats and only one of them is playful. I don't know as much about pregnant cats because I've never had one but I've been researching cats my whole life so I know enough about them. Pregnant cats do tend to get really clingy around the time they're going to give birth, but when she does do NOT interfere. Almost all cats like to give birth ALONE, especially since she used to be a stray. She also most likely will only let YOU touch her babies. In all honesty, I wouldn't advise having anyone else come near her babies because it could stress her out immensely. My Twitter is @Hollytops123 in case you have any questions. Colleen Neuse Well he doesn’t know what he is going to do.Some lady had cats and could only keep one due to moving.She didn’t wanna give it to the shelter cause they are putting a lot of the animals down rn so he took it.

All of my cats have given birth directly beside me, I use to take in a lot of strays and when they bond to you it’s like a sort of comfort for them to give birth next to you. All of them ended up getting spayed/neutered and found great homes! When she does give birth be on the lookout for runts!! Sometimes the mother rejects them and you’ll have to bottle feed.

@@ShanRezGaming dogs are different than cats, all the puppies made it in Larks litter. It's super normal for kittens to pass in birth, in the womb, or during infancy.

I really hope you keep her!! Especially with her going through a labour in your home, shes built a lot of trust & I would hate for her peronality to change if she went to a new home. Because honestly she may be this friendly just due to the pregnancy. I'm still happy she has a safe place for the time being

3:21 Don't worry my husky sheds like that too. He gets tufts of fur that just stick out, and your able to just pull the tufts no problem! Huskies shed so badly😓

Joey reply if she is doing this. Heavy Breath,Contractions of cleaning herself,and being cuddly and other stuff. If she is that means she is going to give birth, sometimes the cats wants to give birth alone and private and if she was panting do not worry it just means she is gonna give birth. My cat gave birth like 4 days ago. She'll be needy and she'll cry alot and all the stuff you listed above. Joey try to give her space like 3 to 4 hours at a time and do not touch the kittens after she has given birth she'll lick them and take care for them for like the first few days.

you can touch them depending on how close you are with the cat. My cat had 4 kittens , I helped clean them up and helped her deliver a kitten conning out by the feet. My younger brothers also held them the day they were born, she still cared for them so it really just depends on the cat and how strong the bond is.

@@lewis3761 cool XD i was asleep when My cat had her first kitten and woke up to a kitten on my bed. some cats only give birth if they are alone but I didn't know they did it the other way around. You must have a really strong bond with your cat 😄

3:04 This is shedding season! My dogs are literally so fluffy and they shed a lot around this time! I recommend to groom them every two weeks if they are shedding really bad. :)
