Allah (S.W.T.) made this happen. The dead have no power over the living. All the souls who have passed on are now in another dimension called the “Barzakh”, awaiting the day of resurrection when all of us will be taken into account for what we do. It is Allah who commands the dominion of the heavens and the earth. The source of happiness and success is through turning to Him alone. May Allah (S.W.T.) guide the mother of this beautiful child and grant both of them eternal life of bliss in Jannah. May Allah guide you and anyone else reading this comment. May Allah (S.W.T.) keep me guided and steadfast in His religion, Islam. Ameen

I never forgot the woman who realized I was sitting alone and broken-hearted at my brother's funeral. I was 13 and my 17-year-old brother was my best friend. At the funeral, everyone had their arms around someone to comfort them but I was alone. I remember her looking over at me and moving over to my side and wrapping her arms around me. It doesn't take much to make someone feel better... just a kind heart.

@@llkg9 that's beautiful. Loss is hard but it is also an integral part of this existance.. and because of that, there is a certain beauty to it. Ur father will always be with u and in any subsequent offspring in his bloodline -- as it is with his predecessors n so on. Many people look at ancient ppl as primitive and dumb... but all throughout human history there has been these undersrandings.... in the history of every culture, race, region of the world. Ur father will wait with ur mother, and they will be together again. And perhaps their energy will manifest in several lifetimes together. Love is strong like that.

Well I just bawled! The little girl's innocence of asking to pet the puppy then asking if the lady wanted to meet her dad because of her pride towards her father is as beautiful as it is heartbreaking! I'm glad their paths merged that day! And what an incredible woman to walk into a funeral of someone you don't know wearing workout clothes all to appease the love of a girl for her dad! I lost my dad 2 and a half years ago when I was 25. But at the hospital before and during my time to say goodbye I turned back into a little girl who just wanted her daddy to hold her and tell her it was gonna be ok. Losing a parent is incredibly difficult as a literal part of you is gone. And it feels so weird that I don't still have 2 parents on this earth. It feels wrong in a way because you almost look at your parents as immortal and infinite when they aren't. My thoughts and prayers go out to this family and to anyone else struggling with the lose of a parent.

I’m not surprised that a woman whose dog is so clearly loved would also be so compassionate to a little girl she’d never met. The most shocking thing? She wasn’t closed off with headphones on, staring at her phone. She actually heard the little girl and stopped. I’m criticizing myself, too: we used to be more open to each other and aware of people right around us who might be hurting and in need. Seems like that little girl’s dad was a wonderful man and his and her mom’s influence have already inspired her to be a kind and loving person. Truly loving animals is so good for us - and for breaking down barriers between us and bringing out the best in us.

I found out this past week that my dad's cancer has come back this time in 3 different places. I'm alot older than this little girl but when I returned home ,after taking my father home from the doctors appointment last Wednesday, telling my husband the news I went to our fur babies and just cried for what seemed like hours.

Thank you. In these hateful times this story reminds me we’re not supposed to be this way. Raylin’s love of her daddy and the invitation to a stranger to see him is compelling. Emily’s compassion & courage to do what God has placed in each of our hearts to do is convicting because while all of us know what we should do not all of us would do what Emily did. I’ve been distracted this last year and I needed this to remind me of the importance of every person.
