In Naples we used to call him "our dear Saxon" so much he was amalgamated into the great Neapolitan Baroque School. Although he travelled anywhere in Europe his music's vibes remain akin ours.

Title of the Librettos (Metastasio), Musik von Johann Adolph Hasse, Wien 1760: "That the young Alcide, having reached the maturity of his years and reason, found himself in the dangerous challenge of choosing one of the two opposite paths, to which at the same time Virtue & Pleasure invited him to compete, was an allegorical teaching of ancient Sages , adopted by the most famous of Philosophers; & served as the motif for this dramatic component".
