Masterwork. From the forgotten composers I discovered on KZbin, Wilms is the best.

Thank you for posting so much interesting unknown music. It makes a huge difference in my musical diet that the algorithm is always pushing your new videos. Very appreciative of the selections as well as the scores to read along with. This piece is wonderful - especially the chuckling horns at the opening of the 3rd movement! I could dig into this score many times. Thank you again!

Erstklassig!

@@elsaalcala5486 Sorry, I can only translate it into English: It is my first occasion to listen to this late-classical concerto. Amazingly well-composed and beautifully performed with lively sound of the brilliant flute solo and perfectly corresponding sound of the other instruments. The second movement sounds particularly beautiful and truly lyrical. The experienced conductor leads the perfectly trained chamber orchestra in a lively pace and with carefully controlled dynamics. First class!

Very Mozartian with hints of Haydn and Beethoven!

Could as wel have been written 50 years earlier but surprisingly well written by a completely forgotten composer.

There are definitely some parts that are more resemblant of Beethoven and even Mendelssohn rather than the more formalistic Classical of the 18th century.

@@kimgrenyer9204 The Wilms symphonies sounds like Beethoven!!!! There is a tension just found in Beethoven scores

This concert is distinctly late classical , the stile who would have been dominant in 1813

Those good old times when the timpani were a transposing instrument.

Remarkable how the timpani part is written in C, while the rest of the piece is in D.

I was wondering about the same, maybe it is just the way they wrote Percussion parts despite of the tuning. Interesting

Also there is a marking some measures before the first notes of the Timpani ''D.A.'' Does anyone know the meaning of it?
@markokassenaar43873 жыл бұрын
@@germanparada1750 Those are the actual notes that are required: tonic and dominant. Perhaps it is just like horns and trumpets: tune in D major and then play in (written) C
@germanparada17503 жыл бұрын
@@markokassenaar4387 Oh yes, so evident. D and A hahaha!
@evanmisejka40623 жыл бұрын
Timpani parts are written as transposing much like trumpet and horn. So they tune to D and A but it is read as C and G.
