This is EXACTLY what I wanted to see when I went searching. I keep seeing people make junk journals that are creative yet empty. I wanted examples of something more sentimental. I want to make something more like this! Thank you!

I think it's wonderful that so many spreads are family-focused, and I also love that you did a lot more painting in this journal, it makes it feel very unique and it's a great addition to the papers, writing and pictures. Hope to see more painting in your new journal!

Sentimentalists are special people. They are generous with their love and seek authenticity. The journals we have kept for our memories are a spectacular achievement because our lives are in them. Reminding us to treasure them and to value them and the people in them. Look at all the followers clamouring for your handmade journals it because your loving hands and thoughts have created them. Be proud that people see your journals a fitting place to keep their most precious memories in because you have become so kindred to us all that appreciate your authenticity. I admire your personality and your journey with life’s struggles and I see you are achieving staying grounded for the love of your family. That is something that I would like to incorporate more as well. Seeing your process step-by-step makes it less intimidating for me and I’m sure others. Thank you so much for the inspiration! 😊

It's so interesting seeing you write goals and fashion and home stuff, reminds me of what I did in my 20s and then into my 30s with kids, so much more goal setting and career and establishing oneself, creating a life. Things are so diffferent now at my age, of course it's so less busy, and those things are no longer the centre or as important. Interesting the different stages of life. Great video, thank you 🤩 I love going back over my journals too.

Loved it Yo ❤ I always feel like you're so busy and I'm not present in your life enough but it's nice to see your year's summary & know we were present and aware of your biggest moments ❤ so nice to see it all as a flashback. Wish I had your diligence in capturing all these moments in time xx

So many beautiful pages in this journal! The paintings and drawings add a really sweet touch. 💕 I also like writing down conversations with strangers! I find that older/elderly people are more likely to start talking to me while we're waiting in line or for an appointment. And they always have interesting stories about their lives, so I feel sentimental and like to write down those meetings. 😊 Thanks for always being such a big inspiration to so many of us!

Johanna, I love your style of journaling - I love how you preserve the every day little bits and make them into incredible collages. I struggle with whether to add the one of a kind pieces, like the original post cards and boarding passes and seashells to the family scrapbook or to add it to my personal journal - how do you decide? Do you also keep a truly personal journal that only you have access to and is the format of it different than the journals that you share here? Anyone else also have the same struggle? I have ephemera of recent trips and don't know whether to save it for what will be a family type of scrapbook or to keep it for my own journal.

Learning to worry less about aesthetics and put more personal touches like artwork into my journal is something I've been really wanting to do, so seeing how someone else has done it has really helped inspire me. I love how it looks as well, so it definitely hasn't taken away from the aesthetic. I've considered getting one of those Instax printers too (I've avoided most thermal ones because of fading), but the refills are not the cheapest. Have you found the prints come out well first time, or have you had to waste some with trial and error? For receipts, I've also been trying to prevent them fading long term and considered scanning them and printing a copy on tracing paper, then stapling it with the original for the journal. I haven't tried this yet but perhaps it's something you'd want to try out too 😊

I love your journaling style. I recently started junk journaling, but felt a bit overwhelmed decorating about a couple weeks in and found I like to write more than decorate. Thank you for your inspiration, I will try more of your style journaling for December. 😊❤ Also, what camera do you use?
@T34Panda2 ай бұрын
Decorating is only for yourself anyway so try not to feel obligated to do it when you find it overwhelming. I also started out with Junk journaling about 10 years ago and burnt out after a year because I had a certain standard of decorating I wanted to do for each page. A solution for me was to save a digital entry when I had something to write about, and then only put it into the journal when I was in a creative mood. You might also find you like to just write and leave some space in the borders in case you want to go back later to add stuff. I really hope you don't get put off journaling, it's one of the best things I've decided to start doing. I hope you find your perfect method/style and that it brings you a lot of joy 😊 good luck!
