Impressed with your video. You are looking at life quite objectively, and sharing that will definitely help many others. Maybe others have already told you what I'm going to pen down. Just a few thoughts that came to my mind while watching your video: 1. We always wash our hands, feet, and face before sitting for a meal. We also ensure that the space is cleaned up before serving. 2. We are taught to pray before having the first bite. Food is equivalent to god. अन्न पूर्णब्रह्म. This makes us finish everything, and teaches us not to waste the food. 3. We keep very tiny morsels of food beside the plate for insects and smaller beings. This has almost stopped now because we've moved to houses that have ceramic tiles, and insects and flies won't be around. But personally, I admire our ancestors who thought of teaching us to share our food even with creatures we don't like. (Their life matters, and we must respect their space.) 4. Everyday food is not believed to be wholesome if it doesn't have all six types of tastes. There's a lot I can write about this, but it won't remain a KZbin comment. It's already feeling like a blog entry. 😁 5. After the meal is over, and we finish everything in the plate, we say, अन्नदाता सुखी भव - may the provider be always happy and content. This provider is the farmer who reaped the grains, the entire supply chain of merchandise, the people who cooked the food, just everyone known and unknown. That makes us stay grateful for our everyday meal. I can just go on and on, but am glad you understand all this. Not many Indians (at least in the cities) know the science behind food rituals anymore.

Some people chew fennel after a meal, that leaves a flavorful mouth at the same time fennel had fibers can contribute sort of scrubbing, cleaning effects. Eating with fingers, wow many many nerve endings get stimulated, you can feel the enhanced taste, warmth thermal properties and feel all kinds of textures, some people just by touch can gauge, feel proportions of many spices. Also supposed to be relatively quite while eating to let whole body feel the foods, and not supposed to distract yourself with gadgets or newspaper, etc. on and on...

I can relate to taking your own culture for granted, I did the same thing when I still lived in Finland. It's super awesome if I can get fellow indians appreciate their own culture more again, instead of trying to be like America especially 😊🙏 sure good things to take from the west like attention to public cleanliness, but indian culture is in no way inferior! ❤️🇮🇳

@@JohannaNorth loved your reply! You hit the nail right on its head! We are so drawn by American culture and America is busy adopting some things from India, for example, haldi doodh which you mentioned in your vlog and they renamed it as turmeric Latte! So now everyone thinks its cool to have a turmeric latte because Amers are having it. You're right, our culture is not inferior but again lots that we can learn like not honking on the road, making way for pedestrians, cleanliness and many more things!

Thank you ma'am @Johanna North to show actual image of India. It's most beautiful and gorgeous cultural country, that believe fraternity and love with whole world. I feel proud when foreign people describe India in their own thoughts. I love what are you doing and wish it will continue for many many years. ❤👧💐👍🇮🇳🕊

Johanna [of the] North - I love your username!!! Very 'Game of Thrones' (or should I say ancient Viking culture, which was every bit as cool). I love your attitude and your narrative style. Looking forward to many more videos!

Wow you must be the first person ever to realise where I got my inspiration for my artist name! 🤩❤️ It's a mix of those aspects plus me actually being from the north! So happy to hear you enjoy my vlog, hope to offer the same for a long time to come 🙏
