...well done. Not my favorite interpretation. I'm now 74 and had a retired from a successful clarinet/sax studio for 40 yrs. One example, I had a 7th grade student who, by the time she was in high school was playing the Messesger Solo de Concors and, as a senior was bored and knew that she was could play better than I. Now what to do? I had a copy of the Neilson Clarinet Concerto and proceeded to see how she would react to this piece. I couldn't play it, but started to work on it with her. The goal was learn it for the annual spring adjudicated annual Wis. State Solo and Ensemble evaluations. 11 pages from memory, no less. She was of a mind that doubted I would be able to teach her anything. So we started. When we came to passages she couldn't solve and I could, the look on her face was priceless. After a few more such episodes of disbelief, we worked through it. She won the concerto competition and played it with our Symphony. She auditioned for the University Symphony and was in the university orchestra and said she was better than the 1st chair senior. While as a student she was jobbing around town for union gigs.

I played this solo freshman year and my tone has improved so much because of it. Because of this solo, I've become much more musical.

To high to often for my taste- tuning I mean. Not nice. The true master of clarinet plays in tune with the piano. Not to low not to high.. But quite nice sound , a little cold though.
