JOHANNESBURG Through the KAROO to the CAPE in Less Than 15 HOURS?

I recently travelled to Piketberg in the Western Cape. This is the trip.

damn first time we drove CPT to Sun City over 3 days, which turned out to be way too long. These days we do it over 2 days and arrive well before check-in time .Total drive time around 18 - 20 hours

Used to do it from Alberton to Thornton in Cape Town in 12 hours. Quickest time 9hours 15 minutes in a TX5. This was in the good old 80.s and 90's

Thank you. Good question! It is always interesting to drive through Carnarvon because it is this place you hear about, but it is so far. Calvinia was also nice driving through. I am busy with a similar video driving to Upington...

Mostly not any potholes. Can highly recomend it.

800% better than eastern cape roads, highways were resurfaced 10 years ago, new road between britstown and carnarvon built (kinda miss the old dirt road, saw many game back then, especially at night) but very safe now, if on the road stop in williston and go have a snack at Die Ark

@@4WheelingSA an Update - also took this route yesterday, and what a pleasure. Only about 10 potholes and they are concentrated around Britztown.
