I'm a descendants of William Mullen and his Daughter Priscilla, wife of John Alden. I'm just learning about the Mullins and Alden history. It's very exciting and I feel honored to be part of history even if it's in a small way.

I am lucky to be an 11th generation descendant in the direct male line (my account name is not a pseudonym). I first went to the Alden house when I was 11 and my parents had me sign the guest register. The people who came in after us (I remember they were from Shreveport, LA) saw my name and made a huge deal out of it. I was totally embarrassed, but yes, it was pretty cool for me as a kid. I have since taken my wife and son (12th generation) there when he was 9. This family connection has allowed me to trace all of my ancestors in this line back to 1620 and follow where they moved, when they went there, all their kids, the conflicts they fought in, etc. I am very lucky in being able to know my family's history this way.

@John Wiesmer Hi cousin! I used to joke that if we hadn't gone for this democracy thing, I could've been an earl or something. But of course, that's the real point of pride -- we are all equal Americans no matter when we or our ancestors got here. And we all have a role to play in carrying on the task of making "a more perfect union." It's good to know, though, that our family has been working at it for so long, as you said.

I'm curious, which Alden child are you descended from, John? I am descended from their son, David, whose daughter, Elizabeth, is my 6th Great-Grandmother! She married John Seabury. My mother's surname was Seabury, which is also my given middle name! Hello cousin!

@@ForGraceToYou I am descended from their son Joseph, who I believe was one of the founders of Bridgewater, Mass. My branch of the family stuck around that area until the mid-1700s then headed out to western Massachusetts and then Ohio after the Erie Canal opened up. Btw/there are several Davids in my line all the way down, including my grandfather and one of my nephew's.

My grandfather on my mother's side moved from Connecticut to California in the 1950's. His family lived in Massachusetts and Connecticut since 1635. From that family line I'm descended from 5 Mayflower passengers: 1) John Alden and his wife Priscilla, 2) James Chilton, 3) William Brewster and 4) William Bradford. I'm proud of them for having the courage to leave England in search of a better life in America.

I live in the west and would probably never see the area they lived in if it hadn't been for this documentary film. Hello! I’m also a 12th generation descendant 😊 This is so well done. In the summer of 2020, I briefly lived in the Boston area when I worked as a travel nurse on a COVID unit there. While I was able to watch the return of the Mayflower II to Plymouth on Facebook, I couldn’t see these sights in Plymouth because we were still basically in lockdown. I’ve known of my Mayflower ancestry since I was a child, but am only now beginning to dig deeper. I’m hoping to come back to work in Eastern Massachusetts within the next year so that I can finally see these places for myself!

I'm waiting for my wife to pass on, she being in the last stage of Alzheimer's. All my children are adults, now. I might go on a road trip my youngest daughter. My mother (also deep into espionage, a patron of the arts when in East and Southeast Asia) would have loved doing the research.

Howdy from their scandalous Duxbury neighbor's family Mercy Sprague (Tubbs) ~undoubtedly the basis of The Scarlett Letter. Although Fiction the actual women (Also called Marcy Tubbs) and her friend the wife of Peter Talman, the Solicitor General of Rhode Island were of the Free Love belief. Forced arranged marriages were not for them, both were divorced and forced back to their husbands. (Flogging was real) Mercy disappears from history during King Phillips War. William Tubbs remarried Dorthey Soames (Jones) niece of the Governor and her sister was an accused Witch, and was one of the last released. Tough Times.
