John Andrea (Teddy Randazzo) - COME ON IN - Bell Sound Studios (1965)

NO COPYRIGHTI INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (M~G~M 13378) Recorded in New York City at Bell Sound Studios on June 24, 1965, this lushly orchestrated disc is is the first of three issued on the M~G~M label by American-Italian hunk, John (D')Andrea. Produced, arranged and co-written by pop musical genius, Teddy Randazzo, his signature lavish backing track with crescendos and lovely quiet sections accentuated with distant background vocals is pure class. 'Come On In' sounds as if it could have been a rejected track from one of the spectacular M~G~M LP's that Randazzo created with The Royalettes in 1965 & 1966.
After being discovered by record big shot, Bob Marcucci in 1963, John D'Andrea's dreamy self could be found plastered across American television sets on a regular basis in the mid 1960's. Whether he was singing or playing his saxophone,clarinet or flute on some jazzy tracks he recorded for Cameo/Parkway in 1967 with the Young Gyants, he curiously couldn't score a hit record over the four labels that he released singles on between 1964-1967.
Lucky for John D'Andrea, he had more to offer than being just a pretty faced singer, the man could compose arrange and produce as well. That talent would be his ticket to success as he would go on to accompany artists such as the Beach Boys, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Vic Damone, Steve and Eydie, Eddie Rabbitt and Sylvie Vartan.
He has arranged and/or produced 25 Gold and Platinum Records and 70 Chart Records including such #1 hits as 'Indian Reservation' by Paul Revere & the Raiders, 'Da Doo Ron Ron' by Shaun Cassidy, 'Can You Read My Mind (Superman Theme)' by Maureen McGovern, 'Somewhere in Time' by Roger Williams, and '(I've Had) The Time of My Life' by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes for which he won a Grammy Award.
Today, John D'Andrea along with Carmine Rubino, are the owners and family members of D'Anbino Vinyards and Cellars in Paso Robles, California.
