This is narrow gauge on the grand scale, showing what mountain railroading really is ! Sober but gorgeous scenery .

I love the fact that most trains seem to be running at prototype speed; no slow motion trying to make the scenery seem bigger than what it is here!
@rhealsabourin56505 жыл бұрын
Prototype speed? Beg to differ with you on that. As an O scaler narrow gauger those trains were running way to fast. Mountain railroading is a slow, plodding affair. Even modern trains take it easy.

Wonderful video! The two remnants of the old Rio Grande narrow gauge empire, the Durango and Silverton, and the Cumbres and Toltec, are relatively near me here in Colorado, and I have enjoyed many trips on both railroads over the past 40 years. Your layout and video tributes to the incomparable John Armstrong are truly inspiring. You have captured the mystique of the historic Colorado narrow gauge genre and the rugged beauty of the San Juans very skillfully. I hope to see more videos as the layout progresses. I gently suggest that you have someone with local experience and topical knowledge proofread and edit your captions. Examples: "Chama" not "Charma", "Gunnison" not "Punnison", etc. Also idiomatic usage dictates that trains are "crossing" a bridge, not "passing" it. There are other examples, but you get the idea. Naming a village "Nophire" is linguistically clever. It made me smile! Well done! You are a master modeler and a skilled video Grapher. Gleich Gesund!

The layout is built in O Scale. The gauge is On3. No special effect lense has been used. The layout uses available space generously

I like the fire in the firebox underneath. How was that done with the flickering.
@JSVideoUTube5 жыл бұрын
the ZIMO and Tsunami decoders used have a feature to set the mode for each Function output. Firebox flicker is one of them. A high intensity red LED is connected to one of the Function outputs and the mode set to firebox flicker. JSVideo for On3 Trainbuffs

Magnificent! Ausgezeichnet! Aber wo ist "Punnison?" Did you mean "Gunnison?"
@JSVideoUTube5 жыл бұрын
The Layout was designed by John Armstrong as a free lance prototype. So all the names used are similar to actual names Punnison, Charma, Nophire etc.. JSVideo for On3 Trainbuffs

Layout and trains are awesome, but trains are running to fast, slow them down.
