Great interview. Entertaining in a weird way, somehow informative, in your face plain speak, spot on. Disclaimer: I am not a fan of Mr Bolton, but this plain speak about important global and domestic issues is refreshing. 👍🏻

The interviewer loves to argue, but Bolton really knows his stuff. I was not a fan, until the last few months, he speaks with specificty and detail. He listens to questions and responds, and it turns out, he's been right about a lot of things, including Iran. The world will indeed miss the US when they're gone, this is a perfect close. He could be positioning for a presidential run and after 4 more years of either candidate we may need someone like him.

Interesting talk with John Bolton. A bit disappointed that the questions were shaped on occasion as provocative statements the substance of which was not followed up on. It leaves me with the feeling that the interviewer was signalling his own virtue rather than trying to challenge the position of his guest. Especially on the subject of Israel, the talk skirted the complexities of Israel's dilemma.

I like listening to John Bolton as he is one of the few political characters who can talk properly. I don't necessarily agree with him on everything, but it is so refreshing to listen to an American who has a command of the English language. I don't know what the deal is with the interviewer, why he is so arrogant and believes that you have to be rude and condescending to interview someone.

I like John for his direct and analytical approach, but his geopolitical faith in others, and in particular the US, gets in the way of clear eyed analysis. His faith in Netanyahu is fundamentally flawed, faith in Trump's ineptitude is fundamentally flawed, his faith in the American public is fundamentally flawed, and his faith in his own analysis in the face of so many other analyst's, politicians and generals is....? In WW2, John would've persuaded Hitler to switch sides before the Reds got to Berlin and then the New Allies would attacked Russia, promising Ukraine a free state if they too switched sides. Who knows, it may have even worked. I wouldn't say John's a hawk. More like an Eagle!
@johnliu3317
@johnliu3317 2 ай бұрын
It wouldn’t have worked. Even if the Allies agreed to negotiate, Hitler would have to step down and wait for his trial after all he’s done. You might have sympathy for Bolton’s ideas, but don’t just underestimate the intelligence of the Big Three. If Stalin were to live a longer life, he could have outplayed the US to a certain extent. We probably would live in a much different world arena nowadays.

I am right-wing and lifelong conservative. John Bolton is right: both candidates suck! Kamala is weak, far left and incapable of showing strength, something very serious for such an important position. Trump is an egocentric narcissist who does not understand at all how the balance of power works in the world. The only thing I like about him is his support for Israel but since he is a spoiled boy, it may be that as soon as he has a disagreement with Netanyahu that support will disappear. We are toste! 😵‍💫

Thank you. I'm Israeli and these are exactly my thoughts too. I'm hoping that Trump would figure the Israel-Saudi-UAE alliance would mean eventually more money in his pocket so will be supportive, but what a sick way to do foreign policy. The Republican party is genuinely supportive, while the Democrats are split. I also worry that a Trump victory will cause so much mayhem that the US won't be able to focus on anything at all, and that will be really bad.

Trump is the most pro-Israel President ever; Netanyahu himself has said. Trump believes in a strong, independent USA that is able to command strength in the world without the need for long, drawn out wars. Trump was responsible for the Abraham Accords and the normalization of Israel with Sunni Arab countries and I have no doubt that Saudi Arabia would have joined had he won the 2020 election.
@CarlosPerez-ry7on

@@w.b.. I don't think the USA will ever stop supporting Israel. The question is with what intensity they do it. At the moment and facing the elections, it is logical that the democratic party tries to disguise its support for Israel due to the number of imbecile voters who believe Palestinian propaganda. Trump is sure to activate the Abrahm agreements again. What is a shame is that he does not support Ukrania. especially since Russia is also responsible for supporting those who want Israel's destruction. Shalom ✡️

Sometimes you need a hawk. Some call Churchill a warmonger, but he rose to meet the challenges being mounted by totalitarian regimes. The Russian action in 2022 may have been avoided had a much more assertive and aggressive response to Putin's actions in 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2016 been undertaken. Instead, no one did anything. Putin saw weakness, and acted on it.

Churchill was before the nuclear and cyber age - so bringing him up is a moot point as balance of power politics is completely different now. Russia shares a long border with China. Would be handy for the US to have a good relationship with a country that borders its greatest rival but alas they seem poised to push Russia and China ever closer together. 😂

"It depends on who you believe"? No. Not really. What happened or didn’t is an objective fact with little or nothing to do with what anyone believes. 'Not if I have anything to say about it.' Outstanding, sir, and the perfectly toned and executed smackdowns throughout. The ever-smarmy host met more than his match here. Y'see, according to the host's line of questioning, America's wrong first and always, and the seven-front war against Israel begjning with a barbaric atrocity of genocidal intent, aimed with ruthless ethnic hatred: over 1,200 men, women, and children raped, murdered, and mutilated in an hpurs long rampage of savagery, videod and proudly uploaded by the perpetrators, cheered by millions, with scenes so brutal-babies burned to death in front of their parents, young women assaulted with blowtorches, necrophilia, savage decapitations-a wartime militia let loose on an unguarded population of civilians and families, defying overstatement. After the massacre, on retreat, they took 240 survivors captive-babies to elders-subjected to unspeakable cruelty, held for over a year to this day. Got it? Good. It's not complicated.

Military campaigns in iraq and Afghanistan were successful but political discourse after dismantling of Saddam and Taliban was a failure. After defeating the terrorists western alliance should have withdrawn and gone in again when credible threat reemerged. This hair rained policy of nation building, bringing democracy to population that is steeped in medieval religious bigotry was destined to fail. And it did after losing billions and scores of lives.

I'm British and I think our media has a different style to American media. BBC interviewers (not just this guy) do try to ask harsh questions because they think the public would have harsh questions. And the BBC tries to stay neutral (they are legally obliged to be neutral under the terms of their state-ownership). So they play devil's advocate. They will ask left-wing questions to right-wing people, and vice versa. Americans might see this as the interviewer being too rude, but the BBC would say that they're offering strong scrutiny of all political figures (left-wing or right-wing).
