A man who naturally loves his mother, would want a woman like his mother. A man who was brought up by a strong grounded woman will be grounded in his culture and the morals of keeping it real with himself and his culture. The way a child grows is the foundation he was given by his parents. Much respect to his parents.

What did you think of the movie about the Dahomey enslaving all of their neighbors, working them on plantations, and selling them to European slavers? Also what did you think of the movie glorifying a people who yearly carried out human sacrifices of thousands of slavers? This movie is supposed to be about glorifying black heroes, when really the Dahomey were terrible. The premise of the movie is Africans fighting the "evil" white people, when really the Africans do the same thing but worse.
@drinkswithdrea

@@colinreese do you really care or do you find solace in the belief that it’s ok what your ancestors did to Africans because of what they did to each other is much worse?

@@colinreese You care not about slavery you hate what the films show, never seen so many European upset about a so called slave film, you all seem to be on over drive in telling people not to watch like I never seen before
@RandomNPC001

@@drinkswithdrea I don’t agree with the “real” reason why Colin Reese is upset with this movie, but we as BP should also stop glorifying the wrong heroes! The Dahomey were evil as they come and were destroyed for trying to keep their slave empire. We can do so much better than this story. Want real black heroes? Check out Zumbi the Palmares or Chico Rei, these were people worth celebrating!
@drinkswithdrea
@drinkswithdrea Жыл бұрын
@@RandomNPC001 it’s not glorifying anything, it’s taking inspiration from the past to bring awareness to current generations of the rich and complex history of Africa. We’d be foolish to think Africans didn’t play a role in keeping the slave trade going, but we’re even more foolish if we think the French and British were being noble in trying to end slavery in Africa. One thing history has taught us, is that Europeans do not like to see black people prosper financially. Any examples of black wealth end in destroyed communities with no path forward. Any involvement Africans had in slavery was either for survival or I’ll get you, before you get me! Europeans have been putting black people in this position for hundreds of years, and now we supposed to just ignore one of the most powerful militias in African history because we’re letting our colonizers tell our stories and blame us for our own demise. It’s their oldest trick in the book…. Just go see the movie and then learn more about the history

this was a great interview he is on the right side of history. "di man dem", "di crib nice", wow Jamaican culture has really influenced mainstream British culture. I have experienced light prejudice in England when I visited I didn't stay in the hood but I experienced it and it's more subtle. Plus English people are very two-faced they will smile in your face and do horrible things behind your back. Racism is not just what you see or hear, how are the systems how are the institutions are we being allowed in to make progress.

I’ve always been proud and happy to be black and it’s funny when I went to college I had a friend tell me he’s never met someone so happy/proud about being black I’m like of course why wouldn’t I!? Ariana Grande is NOT Puerto Rican, she is of Italian Descent. So, she's basically white which explains her pale complexion when she was on Victorious when she was a teenager. Also, she grew up in one of the sunniest states in the country, Florida. But, people don't naturally get darker when they go from teenager to adulthood. It's either from birth to kids. Even when you are elderly you might lighten a bit. She's probably self-tanning because she jumped several shades darker from Victorious to now.
