Yeah, it sucks watching John lose. I only watched the first round against John vs Todd, John vs Sasho and now this. People usually give John excuses when he loses. Was there an excuse here? Getting sick before the match? Only having 1 work out? They did joke about it during the press conference and in coach ray’s interview. John has nothing to prove though. It would be nice to see him win and his stock go up. The sport grows when John wins.

If not competing is a problem and you will lose even you could win a close match. And I get it.... when you are older and reached your achievements it is not worth to get injured because your focus in life shifted to other things. Being healthy is one of them.

It is a bit sad to watch Brzenk lose. He was climbing the ladder well, right up until beating Corey West!! Now it is hard to go back down the ladder and start climbing again - and risk losing to guys further down.

I find it funny that other armwrestlers are giving advices to John what he should do, the guy has been competing for 40 years, he is probably the most experienced armwrestler and he knows what he should do, its just that he is getting older and doesnt have that kind of strength/endurance anymore to utilize his experience on the table.

Right away in the first round one understands that John doesn't have much stamina now. Which is very understandable... That holding capability in a match that's required to transition from one move to another, that's really missing now. And I have observed that in almost all of his latest matches.... From Ongerbaev to Todd hutchings to irakli to denis or krasimir, etc. John's stamina is really compromised now. But still John is the GOAT and just nothing can take that away from him.

What makes the GOAT the goat is how he starts on setup, always gives people a fair setup, no shoulder all the way forward , no gripping high or too low… always fair.. but his opponent always have to try and get the best advantage, Krasi crying every setup, Devon almost starting in a hook at KOTT, people fouling out on purpose to tire John out and get the youth advantage….
