@@Che.Sem1 it dont matter untill some point. At some point strenght will ovecome technique. Thats why he lost the Alex voevoda. He just powerd tru john. Same goes for levan. Same for levan no technique can whitstand so mutch power thats why Devon lost. He is much beter at technique but levan is just to strong. So yea it matters. Leonidas is armwrestling for about a year now. He will become alot beter if he practice more. Or do You really think john can hold levan. Age is a problem for everyone its not just a number. John is not as strong and lost endurance aswell compared to prime john.
@Che.Sem13 ай бұрын
@@philipsmeets5660 You are ignoring the core aspect in your current explanations. Of course, the greater force will win out at some point if the technique is mastered. However, it was about your certain statement about the larger arm circumference of others compared to Brzenk. And that was nonsense, as has long been scientifically proven. As far as age is concerned, it is always an individual matter and depends on the sport. It can't be linked to age. For many things, full performance can even be maintained up to around 80 with today's physical maintenance options and level of knowledge. Anyone interested needs to read more about this subject in order to gain a really profound overview.
@philipsmeets56603 ай бұрын
@@Che.Sem1 man you are talking shit. Show me an 80y old who can compete against a 20 or 30 or 40 year old. Nobody said you cant be strong at 80 but you will never in your life be as strong as when you where 28 to maybe 40. That is a biological fact. Most atheletes quit around 40 or go do masters or another part of there sport but they cant compete against the younger people. Armwrestling is just different because it involves alot of technique and its not all about strenght. When it comes down to armsize 99% of the time the bigger arm is the stronger arm. Look at Brian shaw, Eddy hall , hafthor, all these strongman have verry verry big arms. Bigger then any bodybuilder they lack technique for armwrestling but no armwrestler will outlift them. Size matters alot in any sport even in armwrestling. Why do you think levan is unbeatable atm ? He hass the most power by far he aslo got technique but there is no amount of technique that will over come that much power.If you really think size dont matter in these cases you have no clue.
@hojo702 ай бұрын
I think I will remember this match for the rest of my life, it really defines John's fighting spirit. He looks so tiny next to Leonidas, but size isn't the most prominant factor in the equation when you are the GREATEST ARM WRESTER OF ALL TIME. I think at 10:00 in the first round when Leonidas took John's wrist from him the room got quiet as the crowd realized that John was in big trouble and probably over, but unexpectedly John suddenly stood tall and transitioned into a press and dropped Leonidas while the room exploded. I had to re-watch that a few times. And John was just getting started!

John is a legend it's crazy how at 60 years old he can still give a lesson to the new armwrestlers. As he did with Cyplenkov in 2008 I hope that this defeat pushes Leonidas to train more specifically and become one of the best one day.
