John Burroughs Slabsides DUTCH SCHULTZ LOST TREASURE SAFE FOUND Hiking in the Hudson Valley

A fun day hike in the John Burroughs Park in West Park NY with a surprise MYSTERY SAFE near the POND HOUSE! Use caution there are several cement water cisterns near the pond house and I almost accidentally walked on top of one. I thought maybe this safe could contain the LOST DUTCH SCHULTZ TREASURE but sadly i'm still poor.

Dutch carries a Ton safe 1/2 mile uphill alone on a cold rainy winter night. Now that's a real superhero Gangster. Other Superheroes ain't got nothing on the Crazy Dutch man.

I seriously doubt Dutch buried his money there. After his death in the 1920s, the John Burroughs Association received the property and maintain it frequently. They would DEFINITELY notice if someone had buried something large there. Plus, Dutch was cheap & not particularly bright. He was just a beer runner with a violent streak that kept good bookkeeping. All evidence seems to point up Route 28 or Greene County. As someone who restored an old property in Ulster County, I know most people in rural areas back in the day buried their trash. Remember, no garbage trucks in the Esopus area existed back then. You may have found where someone had dumped an old safe in the interwar area, nothing more. Great video, don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing you. But you may have been thrown for a ringer.
