Creative and talented. This man carries with him a certain element that's just rarely seen in the music business today.

yea, I'm not talking about this song here. he just said that most of johns stuff wasn't in open C, and i was saying i don't believe that. but you're most likely right :P

@cakey098 This song is off the album 'sunrise over sea'. Obviously being a live version he's added a few new tweaks for the benefit of the audience in this edition but the bulk of the song is largely the same on the album.

You're wrong dude, John used a few more tunning, listen to the songs "Believe" or "Mystery man" or "attitude" or 'Hello and Mist"(which are in standard drop D).

no it`s not open C tuning it sounds very similar but it`s open B tuning with capo on the 4 th.

@misjoe12312 жыл бұрын
so make the test you will see it doesn`t sound similar if you play it open C tuning. not because of the difference of one note between B and C but also because the high e-string is tuned to an F# and not stayed as an e-string like in open C. try it out and I`m sure you come to the conclusion he`s using open B tuning

open c, no?

What type of guitar is that?
@jacobvanbelle53309 жыл бұрын
+Fat Cat Sammy I thought that it was a late 80's Washburn 12-string though I'm not sure.

+Carlin Daube The guitar he uses for 'Seeing Angles' is certainly no Maton, the headstock of a Maton is different. It should be a 'Washburn D-28S 12N 1989'. His Maton that you can see in the beginning was tuned 1/2 tone higher than this Washburn if I'm correct.
@Xprojectful36912 жыл бұрын
it does sound like an open C but if you tuned it down to at least a 1/2 semitone, and tuning the D string to at least Db, and tuning the E string up a semitone and a half, the tuning is B-F#-C#-F#-B-F#

John has really gotten a lot better with Vocals over the years. I mean its like God gave him the touch when it comes to guitar. But I respect how hard he has worked on his vocals
