People don’t realize that not only was John Cale a good ass performer, but a good producer/director in music and is part of impacting rock. Underrated asf

John Cale put together some extremely interesting young backing musicians in the late 70s and early 80s when he was living in New York City as evidenced by the Sabotage/Live album and Honi Soit. After Patti Smith disbanded her group to marry Fred "Sonic" Smith and move to Detroit, several of her Group joined forces with Cale. On Baby You Know, it is the band that would record Sabotage which was a live album featuring all previously unreleased songs. It was such a shame that the bassist - George Scott III - died in August 1980 from a heroin overdose at the tender age of 26. He had played with Lydia Lunch in some of her early groups, James Chance and the Raybeats. I am sure a bright future awaited him. And Deerfrance, what happened to her. All I know is that she made a contribution to Tom Verlaine's first solo album.

+Greg Kalabza Deerfrance later moved to France where she continued working in music industry. Then she returned to U.S. where she performed and recorded with a band called Floor Kiss. Since 2002, she is a member of Extra Virgin Mary. And she released a solo album called Blest two years later.

"He had played with Lydia Lunch in some of her early groups." George Scott started both 8 Eyed Spy and the Raybeats after he left Contortions. He got his job w. Cale thru Jane Friedman, who managed Patti's band and John as well as Zappa and untold others. She also did press for Woodstock;-)
