Its unfortunate that the movie is mediocre, well, maybe thats just because it was released over 30 years ago. The cuts to hide death aren't exactly nice, and the cars influence isn't expounded upon enough. Plus, a killer car isn't as scary as one might think. Because it can't come into your house easily. Also blocked by concrete dividers. If Christine were more supernatural in that regard, maybe it would be scary through time.

@@zerotolerance9004 That part is true. But it still doesn't get rid of the "hide from it reliably" thing that can happen easily against a car. Plus, Christine wasn't shown to be anymore supernaturally durable than a regular car of that model. Just able to repair itself.

@@zerotolerance9004 I watched it yesterday, so its pretty fresh in my memory. I didn't explain this well enough, but Christine doesn't show an extreme amount of supernatural durability. Which is to say she isnt unstoppable by barriers, such as houses etc. She wasn't shown to be able to to through a concrete divider, so that's a good bar. But she did end up tanking that gas station explosion, which is notable.

The way I see it is Christine is just a soul in a car like .... well every car has a soul. Well the older generations do. You can drive two Opel Kadett's and both feel and drive different even if they got the same specs and even colour. That is what I mean ... Yes, Christine is supernatural in a way - but not in the Freddy Kreuger kind of way ... Christine is a car that needs love and when she is in a relationship she goes all the way. In one way she is both the overprotected mother.... and the possessive girlfriend. Also note that she goes only after those who both harm her or Arnie or stand in the way / between her and Arnie. She is just a woman scorned. Badly. And she does care.... about Arnie. Note the song when Arnie died. Well in a way Christine represents a lot of angry women when pissed off. That said I think the FX- department did an oustanding job - I mean no real CGI in the early 80's - for creating the Show Me and kills, damage to Christine .... and the ever present PG rating. Also note the 'Jaw' when she took an the Bulldozer. No, she can't enter a house or through concrete ... as she is just a 'real' car with an attitude and soul of her own. But!! she wait and prowl her opponents and strike at the right moment. My favorite scene in the whole movie is just the brief moment of a burning Christine driving. It got almost the same effect as another brief scene in The Dark Knight when the Joker escaped in the Police car. Both brief moments says a lot about the character. Christine burning hot with vengence.
