Based on this video, it is obvious to see that the key to the success of this game is making characters amazing on their own and not be dependent on cameos. The developers are stuck between either unleashing cameos completely to fill character weaknesses or restricting cameos but making characters be individually great like Cage and Peacemaker.

Honestly really funny and ironic hearing him love Peacemaker so much and even say he might just be his character. Seeing as how all the way till his gameplay trailer Max just did not care about and was the least interested in him out of everyone in the Kombat Pack, writing him off as another "guy with gun who just shoots and punches" like Robocop. Everyone was so excited about the supers instead thinking this would be a gun character, which if Netherrealm fucked up it could be, but if you watch the how you can just see the potential.
