This match is one of many examples that wrestling can be anything, wrestling isn't all just five star matches, it's about entertaining the audience and fans at home, and sometimes people need matches like these, creative, funny, and nostalgic to some people, I'm sure this is 5 stars to many people

You're telling me they have the Smackdown fist just laying around in some warehouse underused? Bring that back!!
@Triple-Four3 ай бұрын
They actually do. It's been on record proving that they have a ton of their old set displays and even some WCW display sets in their warehouse. They also have legendary wrestling gear and titles stored there.
@Blackbeard198913 ай бұрын
Yeah if you watch KZbin you can find a video of them doing a tour around the warehouse and you can still see the fist and it's actually a mould of the big shows fist by the way

@@radicalstanza3614 Cena likely wrote it with Bray Wyatt. When superstars figure out how their match goes, they communicate it with each other and mutually decide on spots. Cena admitted in this interview he didn't even know what a Funhouse Match was. The only way he could really sell it is by writing the match with the guy whose gimmick it is.

"IT'S SUCH GOOD SH**!" - Mr. McBoss...😆 I remember being over at my neighbors' house watching WM & this match on PPV, and we were just laughing and saying "WTF???" during the whole course of the match! 😂 The cinematic aesthetic (much like Taker's "Boneyard Match" vs AJ Styles on that same card) was a clever touch, being that they didnt have a live audience there in attendance during COVID! I hope they do more similar-style cinematic matches somewhere down the line, just to see how a live audience reacts to it! (I felt they should've done one @ last year's WM in Hollywood...) RIP Bray!☝️You were a one-in-a-million talent! "THAT'S RIGHT, BIG DADDY!!" 😁

We don't need to be Nostradamus to see that John Cena was going to bury Bray Wyatt a third time. First time was after the Wyatt Family beat The Shield and Cena just never gave Bray a singles win by pin or submission. Only by Bray leaving the cage by outside interference by a child. 2nd time was after Chris Jericho tried to save his heel heat, Cena beat him again and put salt in the wound by throwing him in a mud bath.

If the was a plain old fist swinging with super moves type of match it would not have been entertaining. But the fact that these two put on an entertaining, story packed, nostalgic, Funfest makes it a 5 star classic. The fiends legacy could have definitely been this match stipulation. Can you imagine HHH, Shawn, GOLDBERG! going through this. The fiend showing all the negative past actions of superstars than finishing them. My god imagine The Rock or even Vince being taken down this path. The had lighting in a bottle here. Big ups to both Bray and Cena.

And this is what a lot of the current fans don't understand. Wrestling is and has been so much more than just what happens in the ring. The build up, the characters, even the writing. All these efforts and feats get overshadowed by in-ring ability, or wanting the most physical match. And not that those things aren't to be praised. But there's just more to it
