@@RepublicofNvidiaGamers He casually mentioned Taiwan as a country in a interview and the Chinese media took a caniption fit on him, very publicly and let it be known that he was on the shit-list. Well, ol John had a big movie debut coming up in China and he stood to loose out on a few paychecks. So, instead of staying home, telling the Communist dictatorship to eat it and doing a few WWE pickup gigs for a few million to offset his loss in China, he made a sickening apology video where he looked like he was somewhere between crying and having watched someone just kick his dog. It was PATHETIC. That boy wears his soul on his sleeve for all to see and should be ashamed. You can find it on KZbin...its sad.

Some times but when your target is already famous and has a platform the best you can do is to poison their brand so everything associated to you is considered toxic. AEW relies too much on factions and mutiple man tag matches. Reminds me of wcw right before wwe bought them.

He did spend a lot of time with a company that emphasizes the term sports entertainment rather than pro wrestling so it's prob more of an acquired habit, I know after working at a certain establishment many years I say "guest" instead of "customer" because that's what we had to say and we would be corrected if we slipped, lol.

Even though the WWE ratings are falling, they are making a shit ton of money rn bc of the landscape of live sports. Both AEW and WWE are thriving bc of how many live viewers in the 18-49 demo they bring in. AEW TV contract is set to renew and they're going to get a huge contract, also a streaming deal is likely in the works for them. And on the other side, WWE is coming off huge streaming and TV deals.

AEW is absolutely KILLING WWE in terms of quality and HAS been since it started with 'All In'. WWE is getting horrid. Can't even watch it anymore. Haven't been able to sit thru a WWE show in a few years. (NxT doesn't count). AEW has provided pro-wrestling fans with something to actually sit thru and actually enjoy.

I'll say that's mainly because WWE has become Sports Entertainment, AEW is Professional Wrestling. Now, WWE has aspects of wrestling, they have wrestlers, they have wrestling matches and put on wrestling shows but they focus more on the "Superstar" aspect rather than a "Professional Wrestler" aspect. They've been doing this since the beginning of time, Hulk Hogan was the most popular Superstar in wrestling in the 80s, he couldn't wrestle for the life of him but he was popular because he was the gimmick and he was a "Super Hero" to fans around the world. WWE is in an era now where they have great wrestlers like Ricochet, Cesaro (Had), Chad Gable, Mustafa Ali, etc. but they're not gonna draw because they're superior wrestlers, not sports entertainers. Roman Reigns has built up an insane amount of star power to the point where I can say in 5-7 years people are going to look back and say he was a draw, you also have to understand the aspect of TV Ratings, a large majority people have stopped watching cable TV, WWE isn't dead, It's not dying, WWE has 26.3 Million Followers on Instagram alone and that's a lot. They're socially relevant, something CM Punk in 2011 was trying to make them because they weren't. AEW Is a great product but as someone who has the mindset of Sports Entertainment over Professional Wrestling, I enjoy a Superstar over a Professional Wrestler. Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson are all amazing, top 10 in the world as far as wrestling goes but let's be real here, people fell in love with Stone Cold Steve Austin because he was an alcoholic who kicked Vince McMahon's ass, not because he was a great wrestler, people fell in love with The Rock because he was the greatest on the mic and could come back with insanely good insults in a seconds thought, he told a story in the ring, people fell in love with Cena more so after his prime in 2016 because he was shoved down the fans throats but he still put butts in seats and made them insane amounts of money, why stop that? I really can't say that I've ever seen WWE/WWF as Professional Wrestling ever, It's always been about the story and for people who say there aren't storylines now, I'd say the best correction of that statement is there's only very few, Roman vs Lesnar has really been the only Story Line I'm interested in, I'm interested in Edge vs Styles because of the Wrestling and the rest of the card are just fillers if I'm being real.
