A huge thank you for shouting out my channel, John! You are truly a great and generous man. I love your videos - followed them from the beginning. I was introduced to and became interested in British stamps because of you. I really like the Natal Edward VII stamps you got. They are so neat and clear. First time that I see them.

You are very welcome. This hobby needs as many voices and participants as we can gather, and it's great when someone enthusiastic like you jumps on board!

I've enjoyed your videos showing your days at work. We all rely on the postal system, often gets overlooked, as do the people working all hours in all weather.

Thanks for introducing me to Charnie's channel, just subscribed. GREAT Mutiny on the Bounty booklet, wow.

Thanks Graham, Charnie is lovely, I've swapped emails with her. The Mutiny on the Bounty booklet panes were part of an Isle of Man collection that a viewer very kindly donated, coincidentally the wek that you did on the Pitcairn Islands. I decided to add the complete booklet, love it.

John, in many ways I envy your postal service with almost next day delivery. Here in Western Canada it can take a week and half to get from where I live to a town 200 kms away. And we do not have home delivery. Mail is delivered to a local community box. Yes 'porch pirates' are indeed a problem especially in the US. Very nice South African stamps.

As I mentioned in the video, my "postie" is a great guy, always smiling and happy if he knocks (for anything that doesn't fit through the letter box on my front door or for items requiring a signature. Yes, those Edward VII SA stamps are always a highlight for me.

Thanks Smokey, this hobby really does wonders for my mental health, especially after a stressful week at work, like I've had this past week. Looking forward to delving into my Netherlands collection tomorrow.

Thanks for a very nice and calming video, John. I also like many of the Edward VII stamps, and I have a £1.10 Natal 1904-08 example cat at £4,750. Just one 'minor' problem - it has a faint horizontal crease (othewise a very nice crisp stamp). Of course, that affects the value a lot, but I'm not sure by how much. I love your attitude and I also get tons of pleasure from flicking through my albums (GB QV (loads) onwards, and my latest passion, Brit Commonwealth up to KEVII). Take care, Ray..

FYI on American Stamps - stamps do not allow for living people to be portrayed on our postage stamps - and with most people, there is usually a wait of 10 years after their death to be featured on a stamp. Some people might point out that people portraying a fictional character has been featured - but the technicality is that the "Chararcter Portrayed" is allowed on the stamp, but not the name of the actor, even though it is in their "likeness". (i.e. Star Wars)

The ten-year rule is no longer. I believe it's now 2 years (except for a former president; they just have to be dead). For instance, the Oscar de la Renta stamps were issued a little over 2 years after his death.

Thanks John for showing the stamps I sent - The Champions of Liberty series is interesting as they showcase mainly international leaders who were considered "democratic-Western friendly" at the time. They are a beautiful and very interesting series. The others are good ones too - I like the Centennial of the Civil War series of which I provided two from the set.

I would generally agree with you about postage costs being relatively slight. but here in Australia, however, postage cost is only $1.20 anywhere in Australia, so postage cost is nearly 1/2 of the UK price and Australia is so way, way, way bigger than the UK. Love your videos, cheers from Qld Australia!! J//

Hi John, I also can’t understand the postal service in America, my sister who lives there has been helping me with stamps.Last week she received an album for me and they left it in front of the garage door and of course she didn’t know it was there and drove over it, totally destroyed it but the stamps were okay and it was really a nice album. Anyway great video and congrats to the winners 🎉

It just seems alien to me that they would leave a parcel out in the open. Sorry to hear about your album, but at least you salvaged the stamps.

Hi John (and everyone else). Thank you so much for your videos. I love the way you structure them and cover each subject. I'm very new, my uncle passed away a while ago - he left a beautiful collection to my cousin's young lad and I've just been handed a small ish collection. I think most are the ones that didn't make it into albums. I've thoroughly enjoyed looking through them and finding out little bits here and there. He also left a few empty safe albums with paper so I think between that and watching KZbin videos, I think I'll start my own little collection. There are a lot of duplicates though and I wondered what I could do with them? Thanks again for your amazing content. Karen
