Always a great analysis MOAT. Why not make it 100%? And that deck board should definitely be a tad wider and certainly deeper. They're so close. I saw an interview with John D year's ago and he said the goal was ideally to offer downloads. Like, you said, SF4.

67" is 5'7 tall so you're still going to be bending over to play unless you sit on a stool. This would be a good pick-up for someone who hasn't already invested in a A1U SF/Marvel cab before. However, I feel that the price is a bit much, but I understand that you're trying to make money and stay competitive with the competition (if any) I think that $599 would be more appropriate. The cost is most likely associated to the wood panels they're using. Prices for lumber still hasn't come down. Prices for MDF, pine, particle board are expensive. If you were to make an itemized list, wood, speakers, RPI5 unit, joysticks/pushbuttons, monitor, wires, LED lighting, etc... it's close to 600 something. So they can't be making too much per unit.

MOAT, I was hoping you'd drop a video on this. But something is perplexing me, something that people aren't talking about or noticing on this cab... IT HAS FREAKIN' Hyper Street Fighter II Anniversary Edition!!! This game never came out in US Arcades, only to US Consoles, and this Japanese only version of Street Fighter II is the definitive final version of the franchise in the arcade. It combines ALL of the Street Fighter II series into one game. You can play ANY VERSION of ANY character from ANY of the series against one another. You can choose Champion Edition Bison vs OG Street Fighter II Guile. You can choose Super Street Fighter II Fei Long vs Turbo's Ken. The match variety is INSANE! This game is a bigger win than Third Strike or any of the Alphas. IT'S A BIG DEAL! Anyway, I thought I'd just peep you on this. Have a great one! vgv

I think the D in John D is for Delivers because this is exactly what I wanted. This is all the product of pure blood sweat and tears over a year of passion and stress. If I had only one choice, I'd say controls. Even J wong mentioned the buttons could be improved on Justin's vid. Everything else I can live with, though an extended deck would be nice if not cost prohibitive. I'm also fine with the OG art as is. I'm a Ken guy so Ryu can suck it. 🦆

@saiyanspirits uunga bunga Ken eh? Lol but yeah I did hear John say last night on a late stream that the change of buttons would add to the cost BUT I think it would be worth it in the long run. People have their preferred type/style and a button is a button for me. At least they're being open about these things and discussing them publicly. Whether or not anything changes we'll see

Feels like an extension of A1Up. Same game, different form factor. Same IKEA A1Up quality (or lack thereof). It’s like JD is just doing with M1Up what he wanted to with A1Up. Same Ish Different Day. Tekken would’ve made me think about it more.

The Alpha 2 artwork is growing on me honestly. But that sideart on WW is too much IMHO. Less is more. I think we all asked about the same questions and concerns so I'm confident they will address it. I still wanna know if that cp angle is a wrist killer. It looks kinda steep enough to be, but nobody has complained about it, so I guess that's a good sign?

@TheChallenger1980 it's supposed to emulate the waterfall deck so I understand that concern. I think as long as it's at the arcade accurate height or close to it (36") it should be okay. They do have time to make adjustments before going into full production

Just more hand and Palm space like the Dynamo cab for the buttons and joysticks.I buy this cabinet if it has ill joysticks or Suzo Happ with sanwa buttons good price point if they hit on the sticks and space.

Only real problem I see(besides weight) is..... It should be the width of atgames legends, that's like they only home arcade product, where two grown adults can play comfortably.

I'll also say I get what you're saying with Bluetooth but for an Arcade cab, it's cumbersome as opposed to just plugging in headphones. In US it's not common, but in Japan or places using candy cabs, Headphone jacks are used ALL the time, especially for Rhythm games, but even when you watch FGC tournaments, people play with headphones plugged in the jacks, John D definitely thought about the Culture there

HYPER isn't available on any other cab I know and it's a MAJOR upgrade as well because it's arcade ladder difficulty is based on the Japanese SUPER STREET FIGHTER X rather than the busted American version of SUPER TURBO so it basically makes SUPER TURBO usable for solo play. HYPER, ALPHA 2, and 3RD STRIKE make this a huge deal and everything else is just gravy.

The major 3 retro tournament titles have made the cut with online play so I guess I'll be hosting tourneys in the future in this platform. People usually only play Hyper via emulation and builds, not in an official capacity so it's a bonus I don't think people think about tbh

the pie 5 is alot for these games, but for production purposes, it would be easier to use the same system for all of their game cabs, so they picked one to leave a lot of room for bigger, newer games (imo). I liked it, and pre-purchased one

The only SLIGHT nit pick I have with this is the game list, specifically the decision to put FIVE versions of SF2 on it. It's redundant because the it includes HSF2, which is basically every version smashed into one game, and it allows to play using all the iterations of the characters. So honestly they should have just put in World Warriors and HSF2, and freed that space up for SF1, and Darkstalkers, but.. Because it's running a PI, you can just fix that problem yourself heh

@ragingtyga I feel that but if he's trying to create his own scene independent from the A1Up and wanting to have the retro esports feel to ot then it would be necessary to put on the HF, CE, SSF2T etc...but he didn't do EX plus Alpha or basic SF. I think he might be trying to pull at the heartstrings of the older audience who may be lapsed but want to have an option outside of A1Up but it is a LOT of SF so I'm with you on that. Fingers crossed for digital marketplace? Or Steam OS integration

@MikeOfAllTrades I think the raspberry Pi 5 technically can run dreamcast games. So why bother having it to run street fighter when we know that the lame chip that 1 up used could do it. I just think everybody scrambled to get on. His good side to try to give is much positive influence for that product as they can. I like all those guys but none of them seemed to be impartial. I'm with you because it looked regardless of the fact. It's still looked cramped and I agree that control deck needs to be deeper
