Franz Mustermann yeh, guys make their necks bigger to be able to absorb punches better and be able to keep their head more upright when they get punched, but some people just do or dont have a chin. A guy like mcgregor has a serious chin in mma, to be able to go 25 mins with a guy 15 lbs bigger, to be able to eat overhands from hard hitting FW/LWs, a guy who just has no chin would be arlovski who gets ko d every fight even when he is winning

Nice try Jackson. If you're a hardcore boxing fan you would know GGG conducts himself well and does not and will not try to hurt anyone intentionally especially in sparring. Furthermore, to prevent GGG from hurting his sparring partners GGG wears 20 oz glove but they still hurt. So for Jackson to say GGG is trying to hurt Kovalev where Kovalev is trying not to hurt GGG is nothing but BS. Also, Sanchez is not the type of trainer to egg on a fighter to hurt another fighter in practice. Kovalev for whatever reason was timid to exchange with GGG at the time. Jackson's account was because of Kovalev's friendship with GGG. As a fighter, if you get hit you would want to hit back that's just natural instincts. Kovalev probably didn't want to trade with GGG because he was out of shape and may have gotten hurt if he did exchange.

I can see what he's talking about though because sometimes guys get into gym wars when they feeling themselves especially when they feel someone got over on them. In GGGs case he's used to beating up on guys and at the point GGG couldn't just beat him up Sanchez probably told him to go at it. I Sba see it from sides easily.

amazing dota if ggg was the same size as kovalev walking around at 200 lbs then i believe ggg would have obliterated kovalev inside 7, , but ggg a bit too small even though he will have power at light heavyweight, he is just too small coming into the ring at 170 lbs at an average, around around 23 lbs lighter than what kovalev weighs in fight night .

They are 2 diviisions apart I have sparred with guys 2 and even 3 divisions above me and there no way in hell that you can hurt those guys with 16oz gloves the size diffrence is to much. So the fact that it was sparring makes it much more appealing

Kovalev was pretty inexperienced when he sparred with him whereas GGG already had had an extensive amateur career by that point, it doesn't tell us anything other than GGG hits hard, which we already knew

GGG himself was knocked down by an unnamed middleweight in a spar so this is no big deal. They are two hard punchers, and I think Kovalev has a bit more power overall while GGG has better liver blow power.

Sanchez told that GGG dropped down Kovalev years ago , before Kovalev left his gym.From that time Kovalev gained strenght and technique and confidence. So the challenge is open. But GGG is more cold in the ring and he is a ultimate boxer , he overcame from a lot of time the standard boxing techinque , he seems a terrible hunter that feels the breath of his quarry. the limit of Kovalev is that he is a raging bull and he has a standard technique , at worldchampionship level but always standard

Exactly. Which is why Kovalev shouldn't make excuses about not wanting to hurt his friend. He got caught. And because he wasn't in shape, he paid for it. Plain and simple. He should have just said just that. But I guess for some fighters, getting dropped by a guy several weight classes below him, is kind of embarrassing. Even if he was your friend. GGG does have some serious power to hurt a much bigger guy....that said, there is some legitimacy to what Jackson is saying. Hell, Paul Spadofora whupped Mayweather jnr in sparring years ago and its all al tape...but apparently Floyd had been out the gym for a while too so it's not necessarily a fair gauge of 2 fighters' abilities.

YUP. Brook's fought for years at"fight time" in 154-158 lb range. Not smart to muscle up.Timing, Rhythm, Foot Movement, Energy, and he has a training camp and will fight at 170-174. GGG weighs 165-168 between Camps and at "fight time" he will weigh 165-168 lbs. All Brook did is add muscle that is not integrated at all, dead weight that uses 15-20% more energy/round than before. No time to be trained and rewired into muscle memory. All Brook will know is that normally he would slip this and that punch or it would be 1-2 inches off are hitting him because he is a tad off. Duran had 3-4 WW fights before Leonard I. He would not make 135 lbs then agree to fight at WW 6 months later.
