Compare that to Kovalev who re hydrated to 189 vs Pascal 2, 183.5 vs Mohammedii, 185 vs Caparello. Ward is an inch taller. In other words they are the same damn size. Ward just chose to drained down to 168 earlier in his career b/c he was able & plus his power doesn't really carry to the top level LHW's. Ward has never been a big puncher. But as you get older it is harder for a fighter to drain weight comfortably since Ward hasn't fought at 168 since Nov.16, 2013 vs Edwin Rodriguez nearly 3 yrs ago. Ward's inactivity has also hurt his chances to make 168. So stop w/ the narrative that ward is smaller than Kovalev. That is why LHW's have been calling ward out for years. Stevenson has, Dawson did but drained weight to get to 168 & it messed him up badly, never was the same after.

they always throw May vs. Pac into the argument but what they neglect to mention is that May offered Pac a contract to fight with the VADA testing as a stipulation 5 years prior to their fight. Manny refused because he claimed getting tested before the fight would make him too weak to fight. Manny turned it down because he also wanted 50% of the fight purse. Canelo gave up his 160lb WBC middleweight title to avoid fighting GGG who also fights at 160lb and holds the IBF and WBC titles. That whole catch weight argument is really weak being how Canelo rehydrates to 170 the day of his fights. Olly well golovkin hasn't gotten any bigger...he hasn't grown in height nor weight and some people are just like that. because genetics. GGG has always been a pretty small middleweight imo but moving up 15 fuckinglbs is ridiculous. canelo is moving up only 5llbs in which canelo is a damn near light heavyweight

MRxROID He never tried though, mike tyson at heavy weight is only an inch taller. If he can't even step up to fight degale, ward, or a few years ago, froch and such then he is a failure. Not him maybe, maybe these guys avoided him but in that case it's a real shame for boxing ggg didn't get tested by better opposition. A fight with him and froch a few years back would have been amazing.
