John deer 440, 2-53/diesel, electrical repair. (angry Johnny)

been a struggle figuring out what happened to the ol crawler.
the hot at all times lead to the key switch broke. it literally runs power to the solenoid then back to key swich.
solenoid was in a insanely bad spot, so i relocated it along with replacing it.

starter nearly not working, so it got overhauled.
.
replacing generator with a new alternator, but finding out its positive ground, and cannot use the alternator we bought to replace the broken generator.
machine was OEM 6V, with positive ground.
.
it pre dates any John deer diesel, as it has a GM Jimmy 2-53 diesel.
