Americans and English have a history of even number cylinder engines which are rough running in general. The Germans and some other Europeans prefer odd number cylinders as they are smoother running but however the American and British due use 3 cylinders in smaller diesels like Massey Fergusons 35x, 135, Ford 3000, 4000 tractors etc Hey now if you are into 2 strokes then the early 1970's Suzuki jeep type mini 4wd had 2 strokes which would be pretty interesting as they are now very rare.

Also the Suzuki Carry micro vans with tiny wheel rims no more than 11". I've been in one and it seemed to really pull hard for sub 500cc. A Japanese diesel I enjoy is the Hino 13 litre used in their CM buses. They have a beefy note to them which Japanese trucks usually don't possess. These Trucks and tractors you have on this channel are the good ol’ days when things sounded awesome and weren’t bogged down with mufflers and all this “save the environment” shit. I love diesels and this blown Nissan 5 cylinder is so unique and sounds absolutely gorgeous. Please don’t ever replace it and keep 3 n 5 Spicer in there as well (it might be awkward, but it gives the truck character) thanks for the channel content and I wish you the best in your endeavors.

I have spent a fair bit of time in proximity to 1 of those 2 stroke Nissan motors. I cut wood for a living a LONG time back and 1 of the automated saws had a 180hp Nissan diesel on it that could certainly get up and boogie. Sadly 28 years or so ago when I recorded video of the saws the video cameras were a bit appalling. In the decades between when the video was recorded onto vhs and when I transferred to digital the quality didn't improve on the tape. A bit nostalgic looking back at 1 of these old motors.

Hi Alan. This would of been interesting to have a look at. The old cameras weren’t much good no. I’m sure it did a great job running the saws

@@stevesplacedownunder How much does a UD6 2 stroke cost? the turboes ones were nice. i got a turbo 8v92 detroit 2 stroke out back, i fill and run BRP XD-100 2 stroke oil i get from walmart. She does pretty good on that. The UD v8 was 600 CID and 345 HP N/A and much more with turbo.

Sounds awesome and really unique as most KZbin channels I see are all American and I've never seen one of these motors on any of them. What a cool old truck

Hi mate thank you. I don’t think many made it to the USA. Which is good to have something different

I like the International content, weve still got an old Transtar with a tipper on the back working everyday. It almost keeps up with the newer Westernstars and im looking ford to some Louisville content, we used to run 2 Louisville agitators about 20 years ago.
@stevesplacedownunder Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback mate. I love those transtars. I have 3 here at the moment, still haven’t got a 4200 though. Maybe one day. Fantastic mate I’m sure the blokes like driving it too. The Ford is now in the shed. Will do a Patreon video of a walk around it a bit later.

I must also add with the muffler on the blower has a distinctive whine when up or down shifting

That thing straight piped would sound great going down the road. (On camera is does sound very similar to a open pipe detroit) Cool little engine ive never heard of here in the US
