I’ve been waiting for this one. You got pummeled, but good. Very good to see what life with a 2038R is like in a major snow event. Thanks for sharing what was a very big job. 👊

That IS a lot of snow. The 38 and the pusher did a great job. One thing I noticed with the MSL is all the motion with the loader arms is up and down. Really no need for tilting the pusher at all. Nice!
@ElkCreekAcres4 жыл бұрын
I actually found it nice for stacking, a snow push as with a bucket will spill over the back when raising. With the MSL it kept the pusher straight with the piles and allowed me to push up and over the top.

It's good to see that you have that light snow here in Norway It's raining and snowing at the same time now absolutely terrible I'm hoping for a more traditional winter soon

Yes, this was a good cold snow, it’s the March snow storms that are like you are talking about. Those wet storms are miserable to deal with, hopefully your winter returns to normal.

I have a 20" light bar on my ROPS, but it close to breaking daylight when I started so I didn't put the ROPS up. I didn't film the night plowing later that day but I had it up then.

I have watched several of your videos over the last couple of weeks now. You have some great content! Two questions on this video: 1 - were you using the float function? 2 - where can I find the mirror you have mounted on your loader? I really like the one you have.
@ElkCreekAcres2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’d say it’s about 50/50 with the float function. Straight runs almost always, but if I’m going to be turning I’ll take it out is float. I bought the mirror at a heavy truck garage, you can get them at NAPA or similar stores. It’s a 6” big truck spot mirror, I masked it off and painted it green. I had a piece of 1” flat stock and mounted it to the hole in the loader mast.

Thank you for the info. I just sold my 5065e and I have a 2038r on order with the MSL loader, backhoe, and several other implements. I’m watching lots of videos as I wait until mid November for everything but the backhoe to be delivered (there’s no estimate on when the backhoe will be available yet). Thanks again for keeping me entertained as I wait 👍

@@melodielahanko7083 WOW! That's a lot of snow for poor Babycakes to clear! ;) A few more years and Big-D will be using Grandpa's tractor to clear snow for you. For us, 8" or 10" is a BIG snow! I think the last time we got anywhere close to 17" was the Blizzard of '78. IIRC, that was somewhere around 18-20", but was coupled with 60+ mph winds and subzero temps. We ended up with huge drifts. I had my paper route then - it was quite an adventure trying to deliver newspapers in that stuff. Fortunately, Dad had bought a 28" 8hp Craftsman Snow Blower a couple years earlier so we were able to dig out. And this was before everything was 4WD so people with Jeeps were ferrying people back and forth to their jobs at hospitals then.

Is that a 60 inch bucket? If so where/ how did you get it? They told me 57 inch was the biggest. I had a 61 on my 2014 2025r and liked it.

No sir, this is a 60" snow pusher. But I do have a 61" 3 series bucket that I bought from a friend of mine. Now I have two buckets, 57" at the house and a 61" that I keep up at the horse barn.

I have the 54 inch blower in the 2025 and I love it but the more I see the snow pushers I kind of wish I hadent spent the $4200. Its a pain to get it all hooked up and store it. One more project I dont need at my age and the same with the soft cab. Maybe some day Ill end up selling them and fo with the pusher. Is that a 6 ft? The 2038 handles it like a champ! We only got about 12 inches here and its going to melt so all I did was chase some around with the loader. No sense in rushing to put that blower and cab on. Its only mid December!
@ElkCreekAcres4 жыл бұрын
I agree with the snow push, it handles big snowfalls like a champ. However, when we get storms like this a snow blower would be nice. My wife said she is starting a savings to get me a 3 point blower, these piles will be here until spring now LOL.

WOW! That was a lot of snow!! I was wondering if you missed your blade at all or does the pusher do an overall better job for you? While watching, I was thinking that an angled blade would do better next to your house (but I'm probably wrong about that :)) While moving all that snow looks like a lot of "fun", I'm glad we don't get that much down here. Heck, last year I never even put my blade on. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
@ElkCreekAcres4 жыл бұрын
It crossed my mind to use the blade, which was buried in snow LOL. Honestly, I prefer the snow push, it just seems to eat it and keep pushing, easier cleanup too IMO. But, you'll have to trust me, it is not as much fun as it looks. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well Mark.
@Matt-zn4zp4 жыл бұрын
Looks like a lot of fun!! Are you wishing you had a bigger snow push? 72”? Instead of the 60” now that you have a bigger tractor? I know that was a lot of snow but on a “normal” snow fall you could probably go bigger. Thoughts?
@ElkCreekAcres4 жыл бұрын
Yes I do, a 72" would be the ticket for this tractor, and this snow was light enough due to it being cold it probably would have handled it fine. Some day maybe I'll sell this one and step up, but for now this one is still getting it done with a little more seat time.
